any luck with letrozole (fermara) after clomid?

Hey ladies just got back from an appointment with my specialist. Was on clomid the last 3 months...horrible side effects... he wants me to start letrozole instead of clomid. Anyone have any luck with this or any side effects? Kind of nervous about it because it hasn't been approved for ovulation uses. Thanks!

I conceived my first pregnancy within 4 cycles of letrozole, ending up with a MMC. Then I conceived my daughter within 3 cycles and had a successful pregnancy. Now I am trying for number 2 on my 6th cycle. Its been more of a challenge this time because of scheduling. I loved it, far better then clomid, made me crazy. Good luck and keep a chin up

Letrezol/Femara is widely used for ovulation support. It is 100 times better than Clomid in my opinion. I got pregnant my 4th cycle with Femara. It was ectopic though. Just got a BFN on the 7th cycle. There was a year and a half between cycles 5 and 6.

My dr prefers femara over clomid, he claims it has less side effects and works twice as well. I am starting on it soon. 5 days of Provera left, then AF should come, and I can start my first round of femara! Hoping it works the first time.

My Dr also is putting me on Femera this month.
My cousin was in it and conceived both of her children with it!

Thanks everyone! I'm taking a break from medication after what that clomid did to me! Probably will start with the fermera at the beginning of the year. Good luck to you guys! Myshelsong we seem to be about at the same place with fertility doc, fermera and I will be doing my first iui with it. How long have you been trying? Is yours unexplained? Exciting for you to be going to iui. I wanted to wait till after the holidays :/

Trying for 3 1/2 years so far. We are excited to get to try this cycle with IUI and also first round of drugs as well.

Good luck in the new year, I have taken quite a few breaks sometime one needs to breath for a bit.
