Im expressing every 2-3 hours for my 33 day old 23 weeker - he's now up to 11ml every two hours. My supply has always been low but now it's dwindling to roughly 2-6ml per time (from both boobs!) I desperately want to be able to supply enough for him so I've just started taking domperidone.

Has anyone else used it? Did you notice much improvement and how long before you did? Xx

I used it. It helped, but not enough for me. I was pumping 2-5 ounces at a time and all of the sudden went down to about 1 ounce from both sides. This was when I started taking it (and tried fenugreek and blessed thistle too). It helped, but not enough to feed my daughter so I gave up taking it and switched to formula. She was 6 months actual, 3.5 corrected by that point though.

I used it when I was expressing for my 29weeker, after about 5 weeks when my supply, which had never been great, started tailing off. I found it really helpful and it definitely boosted my supply.
I can't remember how long it took but I don't think it was too long.

Best of luck, hope it helps you get your supply up. You are doing a wonderful job xx

MY LC suggested this even though it's not FDA approved here in the US. I decided to stick with the Reglan since my OB extended the prescription for me but my supply is still really low (less than 2oz a day total) and I'm pretty close to giving up.

I used it but it didn't help much. Make sure you are eating plenty. You need an extra 500 calories so eat lots of chocolate! Try expressing near him if possible or having his blanket with you. It sounds crazy but it really helps. Are you expressing through the night too? Its so important that you do x

I had the same issue. Was producing about 10mls total, the pomderidone double my supply but that was still only 20 mls total every 3 hours. By the time my 23 weeker was 3 months old, we decided to go to formula since they had to suppliment my milk anyway. I felt okay about it since I managed to give her the immunity from breastmilk during her most critical stage.

Thanks girls. Well I've been taking the domperidone for over one week now and it's really really helped. I'm now getting around 15-30ml per expression which is good. My little miracle is now up to 16ml every 2hrs so I'm managing enough for about half his feeds and they are supplementing him with NutriPrem xxx
