hello!
my name is jenny i am from greece...i am 29 my dh is 29 also we have been trying for almost a year
so many years now in every cycle before af i have spotting (all types of spotting dark light red black with tissue thick...watery!every type of spotting!)

i have no progesterone issue no polyps i ovulate on my own and the doctors say its normal
well how can a bean be implanted in a collapsing environment thats what i dont get and thats what i believe is the main reason i cannot have a baby...

about my medical history, i had pcos in the past ...
it has been treated and last 3 years i take meds for hypothyroidism it has been balanced between 1 and 2 level which doctors say is perfect for conception...
i also take metformin since i am on the level when it comes to blood sugar and also it can help me to have better eggs that mature more quickly ...truly in this cycle i had ovulation on the 14th day!we monitor by ultrasound...i used to have it between 17-20th day of the cycle...
i have also checked my tubes they are open thank god!
and i take pregnacare original tablets i think they also contributed to the regulation of my cycle

i am so depressed right now i truly believe that the miracle wont happen for me because of the spotting
i just wish i had something and the doctors would find it ...i wished they told me you have this thing take this treatment and you will be fine but thats not the case for me
is anyone out there having the same problem as me???did you get you bfp???
i will wait anxiously for your answers

Aww hunni, I'm so sorry your feeling so low :hugs:

I have always had spotting before AF since I came off the pill over four years ago and I'm pregnant for the second time.

The first took us a year to conceive and like you I assumed it was the spotting that was stopping it. My GP was clueless and the month I was due to be referred I fell pregnant.

This second pregnancy was a lovely surprise as we weren't ttc. We DTD once without protection.

Anyway I just wanted to give you hope. I even spotted both cycles I got my BFP and only tested both times when it didn't progress to full AF.

Best of luck lovely x x

thank you so much for your answer!and congrats i am so happy to read your story it gives me hope!
i was on the pill too for almost 4 years to cure the pcos and after the pill i have this spotting issue ...all these years in every single cycle!
it can start even 10 days before af which is just 4 days after ovulation thats why i am so concerned...did you have spotting this early????
and the time you got pregnant and also now you had spotting but never got the full blood flow and cramps...???

There was no set timing for my spotting. It could be 2-3 days before AF or even 1dpo and I would spot for 10 days till AF came full flow. I would say most common would be to spot around 4-5 days before AF.

Both times I conceived I still got the same spotting. The first pregnancy I had it a week and when it didn't get any heavier I tested and got a very strong bfp. This pregnancy we hadn't been trying. I spotted I think for about 5 days and again didn't progress so tested and was positive. In both pregnancies I spotted for a couple of days after my bfp too but then it stopped and it didn't get any heavier. I did still get crampy but that's a normal part of early pregnancy.

I really hope you get your bfp very soon lovely x x

Hi jenny, so sorry to hear. I've always been told spotting mid cycle isn't good. Have you had a laparoscopy or any investigations? Spotting four days after ovulation really isn't good, something isn't right somewhere. Please go and see someone about it. Have you heard if serum in athens? I think you can get a free telephone consultation with the clinic director and she would really be great for you to talk to. You could possibly be lucky but it's best to get it checked. Xx

i ve been to 4 different doctors and they keep telling me its normal as long as this spotting leads to af and doesnt happen in random days during the cycle (i guess in that case its connected to polyps etc.)
i had multiple scans i even monitor my ovulation, and the hsg showed nothing that can cause spotting ...hormones are excellent, progesterone is perfect and i ve done the blood test on the specific days of the cycle that you can do the these tests so you can get accurate results.
my only hope was the blood sugar which i have it on the level thats why i started metformin this month but as you can see metformin had no result on spotting...

anyway, there is a clinic here specialised in pcos and since i was on treatment for pcos 12 years ago and after the pills i took for pcos thats when the spotting started maybe there is a connection...i hope i will find answers there...
spotting makes me so depressed...i just wished it could last up to 12 dpo so i can have a shot, but when i see blood 4dpo or 5 -6dpo i am breaking down...same thing every month...

Just to mention there is a whole thread over in the 'TTC and discussion boards' about those who are spotters before AF! Can't remember the actual name of thread but if you go into the TTC discussion boards go down the list you will find it. Does seem spotting is more common than is thought. Good luck x

thank you so much i will check it out!

Yes I spot, I spot throughout the first trimester too, but I had a few weeks of spotting before I tested on this one. So it's possible. There many reasons for spotting, extra blood flow to your cervix etc, good luck x
