Britfost- The important thing to do is not to get too involved with the process. The more you know about it, the more you will think about it and then the less likely it will happen. Reason for this is stress. And trust me, stress can do a doozy on the body!
For me, DH and I have been married 4 years this November, but together for 9 1/2 years. We have been TTC for just over 3 years, no success. However, we have only been ACTIVELY (meaning speaking to a fertility specialist etc.) for just over a year. I recently had my first (and hopefully my last!) HSG. Tubes are clear, but I did have a blockage they flushed out, thus it was VERY painful for me lol.
My cycles are very regular (28-30 days) and I ovulate almost 14 days to the T. When I start noticing my usual changes (cm) I check for my LH surge at least twice a day. Once it is detected, we BD for those 3 days to cover our bases. We hope the HSG did the trick for us and will get our
this month!
As far as tips go, relax and make it fun! There are SOOO many tips out there it's crazy! Drink pineapple juice, sleep sideways, pat your belly, orgasm, don't orgasm, and the list goes on! lol. Pre-Seed is a great lube to use during TTC, we use it and love it. Sex every other day is certainly an option. Keep in mind, a mans sperm takes 24-48 hours after each deposit to replenish. I suggest investing in a good Fertility/How to Conceive book in the mean time. Has ALOT of info in there about what to do and not to do.
Best of luck to you! We are here if you ever need us
