anybody else had an empty sac??

i had my scan today at epu and it shows an empty sac, so it could be too small to see or it could be bad news, i have to wait 10 days and have another scan.. just wondered if anybody else had had an early scan seen an empty sac and then gone on to be ok?... such an emotional day today... not good!!

Hey hun, I went to the epu when i was roughly 4-5 weeks due to bad cramping and there was only a sac and no fetal pole could be seen, went back two weeks later and there was a lil bean in there with its heart beating. it could be just ur too early for anything to be seen. gl hun and let us know what happens xxx

How far along are you? I had an empty sac at 5 + 3 and went back at 7 + 1 and I had a baby and a heartbeat...could just be too early.

6 weeks today. Thanks for those reassurances.. just what i needed!! not sure how i can wait 10 whole days!!.. think i'll go stir crazy waiting and thinking about it

Hey Hun, I had an empty sac via external ultrasound at 5+6 but saw heartbeat via internal scan at 6+4. I posted at the time andgot lots of replies from ladies that had had similar, so try not to worry xxxx

hi ya i had a empty sac on my first scan on 6/1/11 i was so worried about it and was supposd to wait 3 weeks for another scan but i couldnt wait that long as i was having cramps so i went to epu yesterday had another scan and everything was there even the heartbeat im sure yr be ok try not to worry. it is amazing what can be seen even after a few days. how far gone are you?

I was hospitalised.......they saw a sac at 6 weeks and 4 days.......no heartbeat
Ive just had my 12 weeks scan and everythings fine!

Hey hun. I had a scan at roughly 5+5 and all they saw was empty sac. 3 days later had another scan and there was bubs with heartbeat and everything! I know its easier said than done but please don't give up hope x

Hi I am experiencing the same dillema. my clearblue indicatoe tells me I am 1-2 weeks since conception making me a round 4-5 weeks preganat. have symptons went for a scan and there was no sac. I go back on Thursday. He wanted me to wait 3 weeks but I refused I couldnt wait that long. Just hang in there and let us all know the outcome.

just to let you no if them cb digi says 1-2 weeks you may only be 3-4 weeks so i wouldnt worry 2 much

I want to thank all the ladies who shared their stories. I just went for my 1st appt-- don't know why the dr did a scan this early... but she saw an empty sac. Still, she said everything looks "pretty good." So I was trying not to freak out. And after reading your stories, I feel much better.
I go back in two weeks. Hopefully we'll see a baby and a hb!

i had a scan that showed an empty sac its so frightening but only 7 days later we saw our little bean with a heartbeat!! have they tested your hcg levels, they can be reassuring during the wait xx

hi just thought id update for you i had empty sac and now im over 30 weeks preggers it is quite common on early scans im sure everything will be fine

Aw I'm sorry you're going through this, I know it's the hardest thing in the world to just wait and see but it's quite possible it's just too early to see and as other girls have said a few days will probably make all the difference!

I had a scan this time at 5 weeks and really didn't think we'd see anything but I cried my eyes out when we saw a sac, fetal pole and heartbeat!

Before I fell pregnant with my daughter I fell pregnant and at an early dating scan at approx 7 weeks they found a blighted ovum (empty sac), unfortunately it really was empty and I mc.

But I am sure that when you go back you'll be wondering what you were worrying for! Sometimes these early scans stress us out more than setting our minds at ease!

I had an early scan that just showed a sac and a yolk sac. I started bleeding bright red a few days later, assumed that was it. Went back in for a D&C 3-4 weeks after that scan and was informed just before theatre I was 9 weeks with a little baby with a strong heartbeat. Honestly the biggest surprise of my life!
