Anyone 33 years old TTC for 3 years + and previous m/c?

Hi 3tcc,
I too am also 33 in a couple of months and we have been ttc for about 3 years also.
We are currently attending a fertility clinic, have had all the tests done but all tests seems to be o.k. I have also had 3 iuis done the first 2 ended in early miscarriages sadly & the last 1 was unsuccessful.

We are going to give iui 1 more shot in a couple of months time, but trying naturally ourselves for a while. It is so hard for me to accept we can't get pregnant ourselves as there is no apparent reason why we shouldn't.

I have also started acupuncture, I will try anything that may help us on our journey. So far I have had two sessions and my acupuncturist told me the majority of her clients attend her to help.

I try my best to stay positive, but it has and will get me down at times.
I just have to keep telling myself we will get there in the end (fingers crossed for you also), however long it will take me
Take care of yourself, :winkwink:

Hello! Thanks for posting a message in my thread. I tried acupuncture once but for losing weight although I'm not too fat, just about over 10 pounds but I was a little scared and don't like needles at all. I'm also going to a fertility clinic called Shady Grove and the staff is very nice and helpful and I'm going for a third IUI next month. I was out of town for the weekend during my last period and missed doing it then, so this is a very long month for me. And it's been a long 3 years too.
I had 2 miscarriages but they happened a little over 3 years ago. I haven't been able to conceive since. Doctors haven't found anything out of the ordinary. The first time something was found was a month ago - high prolactin levels - but I'm taking cabergoline and have managed to regulate them.

i'm 33, had miscarriage in 1998 took 3 yrs to get my son and been ttc again since he was born which is a year :)

Hello I am 33 and have been trying to conceive my first for 6+ years. I have had 5 miscarriages. 2 of which were ectopic. I have PCOS, mild endo and a small fibriod. Hope we all get our BFP's real soon. I have had fertility help but becuz I am in the US i have had to pay out of pocket for all the treatment. So IVF would be really expensive.

Hi Puppy Mom:
Why would you get IVF if what your problem seems to be is holding the baby - not conceiving. I might have to get an IVF if my third IUI doesn't work...

Hi 3 years my doctor suggested it as I've only gotten pg 5 times in 12 years and because 2 of which were in the tube that would be avoided which I think should be anyways as my bad tube is gone now. But she said that with IVF they can pick the best eggs and the best sperm and we are just not sure that my eggs that are being chosen naturally are all that good. Part of me thinks she just wants my money. But who knows. Right now just trying to get my eggs healthy while they are still in me.

Hi all I'm 33 (34 in August) and my DH and I have been ttc for 26 months. I have a son from my previous marriage (he'll be 5 in April) and DH has 3 children from 2 previous relationships (12, 9 & 3). We've had lots of tests done and know that I am ovulating well and DH has sperm although his sample was a little on the low side but nothing to concern our specialist. I also had a lap & dye in november and found from that that my tubes are a bit "concertinaed" (they go narrow then widen up then narrow etc etc) which they thinkw as caused by having an emergency c-section at almost full dilation with my son! But there is still a way through as they got the dye through so they can't find any reason why we can't conceive!
I had a mc at 5 weeks a year ago and they think that coupld have been ecptopic but that is somethign that we will never know for sure!
DH is going for another SA but this time is having a specialist test called a Swim Up test so then we will know exactly what we are dealing with.
Unfortunately as wel both already have children, all be it from previous relationships, we aren't able to get IVF on the NHS so if we do decide to go down that route then that'll be something we have to pay out for ourselves1 Its about £3,500 which we can't afford at the moment so we're gonna start trying to save a bit here and there and carry on trying for 18 months and then if we haven't managed it naturally hopefully we'll have the money saved for at least 1 shot at IVF.
