I would like to take Evan to thomasland for his 2nd birthday but it will have to be the Saturday after as dh is a teacher. It's the 24th November so into thomasland magical Christmas time which is fine but I was wondering:

- is it heaving on a Saturday? Especially on Christmas events when most of the park is shut except thomasland.
- is it worth it? He loves Thomas but I keep reading fairly poor reviews on tripadvisor.
- are the thomas rides suitable for 2 yr olds?

Any reviews or comments welcome!

Do you mean Thomasland at Drayton Manor?

We took LO to Thomas Land about 6 weeks ago, on a Sunday. He absolutely loved it!!! It was very expensive for us to get in (£75 for a family of 3), but we had an absolutely brilliant day.
My LO was 2 at the end of August, and he loved all of the rides. Wedding have to queue more than about 5 minutes for anything either :)
xx

Bumping this as id love to read some reviews as wanting to take my son on his 2nd birthday.

How big is Thomasland? Hoe many rides/things to see is there?

I went on a sunday in the summer(july so peak season) & it wasn't heaving, hardly any ques for thomas rides... Their def suitable for 2years, Only a couple had a height restriction(this is 0.9m) but my daughter is tall so had no probs whereas my friends lil boy is same age but his small and couldn't get on it. Think there was only a couple with the height restriction though. There wasn't that many rides in there, but was still good and we had a good time.

I wonder if Sunday's are a bit quieter?

I read some reviews on tripadvisor and there was a lot of bad reports that there is nothing there, very dirty, poor customer service etc. hoping this isn't true!

ILoveShoes - did you book online?

We went on 3rd nov for fireworks as you can probably guess it was rammed!

Under 4's are free to get in, so saves some money there.

First glance i found Thomas Land to be disappointing purely because of the size of it, most rides did same thing, spin or go up in the air.
1 car ride where go around the track basically had a name change to go with the thomas theme.
1 very slow merry go around
1 ariva bus that goes up in air and around
1 spinning train
1 helicopter that went up in sky and around.
1 tower thing that goes up and down (like my photo)
1 spinning pirate boat style ride (in shape of train i think?)
1 larger, faster but short rollercoaster (didnt get on this)
1 another spinning aeroplane in the sky.
1 rail way station where you can get on thomas.

This is all i can remember seeing in thomas land. Is indoor soft play.
However from kids view they loved it!!

Check out height on the rides online but i'm sure most rides are fine for 2yrs as long as an adult can go on with them. We didn't get on everything as like say was busy waiting time was 30mins on average i'd say.

We are going back for christmas event as only live 40mins away we planned to do this last year. Think its 15 adults and 10 for kids plus get present off santa in that too.

Hey Lei! :). How are you?
We didn't book online - it might've been cheaper if we did. My LO is only 2, but they charged us for a 'family of 3' ticket which was £75.
xx

We took our two last year when Daniel was about 3 1/2 and Esther was 18months. They both loved it.

We actually got a deal on the tickets - i think we did it through the Drayton Manor website - so we about half he usual price.

We did both Thomasland and Drayton Manor. We spent most of the time in Thomasland. Neither of them got bored of the rides (we did!!) The youngest one especially loved them all but then she is a real thrill seeker lol. We took Daniel on a few of the rides in the big park but most of them weren't really suitable.

We went on a weekday so i can't comment on busyness. I didn't find the park any worse then going to any of the other big parks like chessington.

Oh yes it would have been!

£20 each for adult, under 4s free think children 4-12 are £12 or £15 xx

Looks fab. Thinking of taking Sam for his 3rd birthday in dec, we were always going to go in may, which of it a good we probably will do as the park is bigger than, but the magical Christmas looks fab, and fireworks! We intend to go just have t decided how many of us are going yet, I.e. grandparents.

I was looking into this the orher day for lo but the website only gave dates for 2011 going into 2012.
Is it deffinatly on this year or have they updated the website?

You can get tickets for this year

Website still says

Thomas Land re-opens for Christmas on the 26th November 2011- 2nd January 2012

They need to update their website :)

Yeah, it's closed except for Christmas but reopens Easter I guess, like most parks.

I can't go, we found out today oh is being relocated on dec 3rd, not much notice! So he won't be around for eldest birthday.

The first time we took DS was on his 2nd birthday and I couldn't begin to tell you how excited he was. He loved every single ride (apart from the 2 he wasn't tall enough to get on). It did get quite boring for me and DH but LO's face lit up everytime he got on the rides.
We took him twice after that and his reaction was always the same, will definately be taking him again for his next birthday x
