If you have conceived with IUI, how many cycles did it take for success???

Hi Laine.
I'm pretty sure we've chatted before.

I did IUI with my first son. We had unexplained infertility. It took 4 cycles to get a bfp.

I'm now doing IUI again. I'm in the 2ww with the first cycle. I'm only 6dpiui, but I have a feeling the IUI was too early and the cycle is a bust. At least I'll know for next time.

I figured it's pretty obvious that sex isn't getting me pregnant, so I may as well try IUI again. I was offered femara (similar to clomid) and sex, but I don't have a problem with ovulation, so I didn't see how this would help us.

Are you going to do IUI?

I'm struggling with the decision really badly! It's such a big step for me and I keep thinking.... Maybe next month :/ I really don't think it will happen on our own though! It's been too long. IUI is so expensive per cycle! I just wish I knew it would work the first time! I'm in Louisiana and it's going to be $1500 per cycle
And I have to get an hsg done that will be $500. Im going to schedule it for sept 27 and maybe just BD until dec.

I hope I can congratulate you on a bfp really soon!

Likewise. :flower:

I hope you come up with the money to try it, if that's what you want.

There is also an Assisted Reproduction forum here. You'll find lots of helpful into there.

I am in my 2WW for my first cycle of IUI, will let you know if it works.

Good luck!!!! I can't imagine how the excitement and suspense must be driving you crazy! Do they normally do a blood test after a certain # of days past dpo?
