Hi girls!
I am about to start a brand new job this coming Monday, in fact it will be my first job after finishing a year unpaid maternity leave
I just found out I am pregnant with number 2 baby so obviously we havent made any announcements yet apart from my family as we are very close....so I wont be telling my new work yet and I feel a bit guilty actually!
Is anyone else in the same situation? Would love to hear how other people dealt with this situation...at the moment I am already feeling exhausted and am wondering how on earth I am going to stay awak at my desk...at least (for the moment) I dont have any morning sickness!

Thanks in advance x

Here's my timeline:

LMP 13th August
Interview 24th August
Offered job 25th August
Handed in notice at previous job 31st August
Last day at job 6th September
BFP 16th September
New job started 21st September

Whoops!

We had actually been trying to avoid it this month for that very reason but we obviously weren't careful enough. I don't hae achoice but to carry on and then let the chips fall where they may. Mae matters worse, my position is a year's maternity leave cover! I hope they're understanding lol.

i got my BFP on the 13march 2010 and started my new job the next day lol. i had to have blood tests to confirm i was pregnant etc but didnt tell anyone (at all) until i had the first scan, then i told my colleague when i was about 15 weeks and then my boss at about 16 weeks. everyone was great about it :) luckily my job was a temp job and the contract ended on on the day i left for maternity leave anyway so i was ok. good luck hun xx

Thanks girls! I feel guilty knowing I am pregnant and no one knows, surely the weeing all day gives it away???

I got my BFP a couple of days before I was due to start my new job. So I was 6 weeks pregnant when I actually started the job. I told work when I was about 14 weeks. They've been very good about it. They've not been awkward about me taking time off for appointments or anything. And my manager has already told me she can't see any reason why I can't pass my probation period before I go on maternity leave.

I got my bfP a week after I started my new job. And I have just returned after my mat leave :( don't feel guilty about it.

Congratulations xxx

Hope mine are like this. Plan is to tell them after the first scan and we're sure everything is ok at that point. I'm a receptionist so not strenuous, but would rather tell them sooner rather than later.

I think I'll not be entitled to SMP either, as I started well after I conceived, but I should get MA as I was working before I got this job. Have been working since October 2010, so should more than have the qualification period.

I am in this situation - had an interview beginning of August, handed in my notice, got a BFP about 2 weeks later! I was about 6 weeks when I started my job.

I haven't told them yet - but I have my 12 week scan tomorrow afternoon (after work!) so am going to tell them on Tuesday.

Don't feel guilty - it's just the way life goes sometimes!

I'm five weeks pregnant and was told today that I am being made redundant. No idea how I'm going to find a job that will accommodate all my appointments since I'm high risk
