Just thought I'd see how many we have here who've been TTC for 12 or more months.

What steps have you taken to try to sort out your infertility issues?

DH and I waited way to long to get this ball rolling.
We've seen a Gyno, been diagnosed with PCOS, although I second guess that.

I was put on Met, but it delayed my AF by around 2 months, so out of frustration I stopped Met and AF arrived days later.

I'm also starting my 2nd round of clomid tomorrow. I'm hoping this is a successful one. First one worked a charm, just missed the Egg though! lol

I had been TTC in total for just over 2 years and had various ultrasounds, boodwork and other tests to try and fid out what was wrong.

I had complained since i was a young teenager that something didnt feel right down there and if often be doubled up in what i can only describe as x10period cramps.

Then just as my hospital appointment for my Lap came through i fell PG, so in my mind it is my own little miracle!!:cloud9:

You bloody well better be!! I need some more of the long termers over in 1st tri!!

Weve been TTC for two and a half years, went through the standard tests by docs, gyno, assisted concecption unit and nothing was found to be wrong.
Gyno and docs had a borderline PCOS result but by the time id got referred to the ACU id lost alot of weight and it dissapeared.

Had a laparoscopy in Dec 07 and still nothing wrong so had been put on the list for IUI. Just waiting on the last results for the screening tests next week and we should get the go ahead :D

I'm so fricken excited for you Hun, if you get results I'm booking in next !

Hi everyone,
We have been ttc for 19 months. I was diagnosed with PCOS shortly after starting ttc and finaly managed to see a decent gynae at the end of last year.(Had some problems with the first gynae that I saw).

Anyway I was put on Metformin in Feb and so far so good. The :witch: has made an appearence twice which is great.

I'm going back to the gynae at the end of may hopefuly to be put on clomid.

Hubby is being tested too and we will find out his results at our next appointment.

Hi Rosie, welcome hun. I'm on my second round of clomid. I was put on Met aswell, but like I said, all it did was delay my AF, i never thought she was going to show. My Gyno told me to just try the Clomid. So hopefully that will work.

Hi Helen. I'm glad the AF is arriving on time for you too sweetie, hopefully she'll be late soon enough ;)

Hi guys...

Dh and I have been trying to conceive off and on since early 1999. In that time frame, I went on and off the pill about 3 times but about 6-7 of those years were with no protection. I have been actively TTC since Dec 2006 this time around.

My problem is PCOS and the fact that I do not ovulate. Met did nothing for me as many of you know. According to the last time I spoke to my doctor, the next plan is to try Clomid for 3 months and if that does not work, than we do tests for endometriosis and blocked tubes. (Then it's IUI.)

I really have my fingers crossed for Clomid because in my mind, I never really prepared myself for anything past that. [-o< Now I have seriously set my self up, just in case IUI or IVF is the only options.

Like Ney Ney, I also waited WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too long before seeing a doctor but I was foolish when I was younger and believed them when even at 25 they told me that my periods might sort themselves out. (Yeah right! :p)

Nice to meet other long termers too!

Hi everyone.

We have been ttc for around 3 years on and off. My af was all over the place since I came off cp 3 years ago, it would be regular for about 3 months the I wouldn't see the :witch: for another 3 months. I did fall pregnant when I came off the pill... but sadly I lost it at 7 weeks. I was really upset about it and blamed my dr. for not taking me seriously... I even phoned him and said "I am really in pain and there is alot of blood down there" and he responded with "ah well you're obviously having a m/c but it's only early anyway so it's common, don't over-react". And yes, it was only early, I didn't need a d&c... but it was still a horrible and heartbreaking feeling.

Needless to say I changed drs... and then they did a check up straight away due to me not being able to conceive. They sent me for an Ultrasound, then a HSG, which confirmed I have PCOS and one blocked tube, then he referred me onto a gynae. The gynae sent me and oh for a few tests, then he prescribed me with Clomid... of which I am now on round 7 (I think )

Watch this space...

:dust: and  to everyone!!

Gen - Good to see you here too

Chelle - I can't believe a DR would say that, it's disgusting isn't it?

 I'm glad you've got yourself a new Doc.

What steps have you taken to try to sort out your infertility issues?

Can I answer

I had a difficult TTC journey....
  • I cut down on caffine & went to half-caf
  • I swapped vodka & bacardi for less when I wanted to have a weekend drink or something completely different - in fact had not drank it in 2 months I think or between 1-2
  • I took prenatal vits
  • Raspberry drops
  • Baby aspirin daily
Through the hospital I had two treatments
  • Fragmin - thinning of the blood (did this twice)
  • hCG injections 3 times a week at home *eek* (my OH thinks this helped, sadly not that time but think the the boost did in the long run succeeding with Moo...not sure though)
My experience was chemical pregnancies & 1 ectopic. Took over a year to suceed & know that my problems went further back but just didn't catch on or investigate it in short.

Course you can answer! Thanks for sharing.

I've heard a lot of people talk about baby asprin.
What does it do?

I actually looked for some in the pharmacy the other day
but only found "childrens panadol" which I don't think is the same.

Hi Woobles...

Question... What are the raspberry drops for?

I went and had a tubal reversal in oct 02 and then waited way to long to go to the doctors to find out what the problem was, in all this time dh and I have never used anything. We did finally get pg in October of o7 but  had a m/c. DH had his swimmers check and everything came back ok I went in and had a hsg in Jan and found out that I only have one tube:cry: I also found out I am border line pcos. The rest of my blood work was fine So I was put on 50 mg. of clomid , the first month it made me O but from my right side but that is no good right tube is blocked. So i go tomorrow to find out how the 2nd cycle of clomid worked. I just pray I will be O from my left this month. Good luck to all of you Sending tons of :dust::dust::dust::dust::dust::dust:

Hiya

We've been ttc for about 28 months now, my cycles are all over the place, usually between 50-60 days!! I have had lots of blood test's which have all come back fine, OH has had SA which is also fine, although they said his motility is a little slower than average, but nothing to worry about. So we have now been refered to the infertility clinic, just waiting for the appointment to come through!!

I'm currently taking prenatal vits and OH is taking zinc vits, have also joined the gym so I can try to loose weight to see if that helps! I think it has done something as started going at the begining of my last cycle and the cycle was only 39 days!! :happydance:

Wishing everyone lots & lots of :dust: xx

I was TTC for 18months - as soon as I decided it wasn't going to happen for me I got a BFP and am now the proud mother of a lovely four month old son. I am a great believer in that the stress of trying can often impact on conceiving, I know some many people that had also given up only to find out they were pregnant a month later. I know it's easier said than done but just try to not stress too much about it and hopefully that will aid things along. Good luck and keep enjoying the TTC!!!
