Anyone else forgotten their progesterone suppository (i.e. Crinone, Endometrin, etc.)

Following my IVF procedure, I started taking Crinone 8% once per day. I am now 5 weeks, 4 days pregnant (yay!). My progesterone levels have always been good - the clinic always tells me that my progesterone is 'over 40' without giving me a specific number.

I am totally freaked out right now because I forgot to take my Crinone this morning! I always take it between 6 and 7am, and somehow in my sleepy state this morning, I completely forgot. I ended up finally being about to take the Crinone 9 hours later than usual (at 4pm).

Since my progesterone levels have been good throughout this pregnancy, I wasn't too worried at first. However, I read somewhere that a drop in progesterone (even if it's still high) can cause miscarriage!

Has anyone else forgotten to take their progesterone suppositories at some point? How did it turn out? Should I be super worried right now?

Hi, I've forgotten - numerous times, sadly (actually, more like fallen asleep before putting the night time ones in). I've remembered later each time and it's supposed to be okay to use them late as long as there's more than 4 hours before the next dose.

I haven't had any problems with forgetting. I have to say that even if I remembered too late, I'd just double the next dose.

Good luck!

if you are over 40 i wouldnt worry.they want it above 20. ive actually just been told to stop mine as my first level came back at 279 and the second they had to dilute to get results of >80. they are retesting me thurs to make sure all is good. if they were worried about suddenly stoppig progesterone they wouldnt have told me to just stop taking the supplement and come back in a few days.

I wouldn't worry at all, after doing ivf I was only on progesterone for 14days after egg retrieval as my clinic said there is no need after that because our own bodies take over due to hcg levels - I am 10 weeks & had no problems at all xx
