So I have recently switched to Formula from EBF for 12 weeks, I switched as I felt my son wasn't getting enough milk as he was constantly hungry and my supply just felt really low!

I started combi-feeding, but he fussed at the boob and just wanted a bottle, so we are now just on formula, I started giving him 5oz bottles and he wanted more, then 6oz..he wanted more, 7oz..more! Now we are on 8oz each feed which is every 3 hours until dream-feed at 11pm and he still wants a full feed about 4am!! He weighed 13lb 2oz at 11 weeks, he'll be 13 weeks on tues, gonna get him weighed again monday but I guess he'll be 14lb something now! No wonder he didn't want my boob, can't imagine I could of given him 8oz at each feed!!

Anyone else got a baby like this? and is it normal? can I be over-feeding him? People say a baby will stop feeding when they are full, but even after some of his 8oz bottles he wimpers because it's empty!! I guess it's the 12 week growth spurt, but wow this boy is hungry! lol

I've been trying to increase his calories during the day to get him to sleep through the night...so far he still wants that night feed though lol!!

It normal for older babies getting close to weaning age to want more milk. Maybe try upping the bottles to 9oz? If he is still keeping this down and wanting more then maybe try hungry baby milk? xx

I agree with skunkpixie - try 9oz otherwise hungry milk?

I wouldn't worry though. I don't think you're overfeeding him. He would just stop drinking if he was full or puke if he drinks too much.

Mine's only 8 weeks but can easily do 6oz every 2-3 hours. We changed to formula last week after EBF and he was eating more to start with, almost seemed like he was catching up! Now he's settled down a lot with his feeding and his eating a lot in the day is balanced when he sleeps at night. If he ever does over eat then it comes straight back up again!

Thanks everyone, he is actually already on Hungry Milk! lol But I have also found that the first few days/week he was 'catching up' and is settling a bit now, so hopefully it stays this way lol! x
