Anyone else happy with their C-section?

why can I not be one of those post C-section women who can exercise and take baby for walks at three to four weeks post partum? I guess it could have something to do with getting over pre eclampsia and the swelling and headaches are still present an d I did have an EMCS and was ill. perhaps I need to be more accepting of myself and let my body adjust before I lose weight and let the pre-eclampsia settle down first xoxoxo

It literally happens overnight... For a few weeks I was just taking my dogs for small walks around the block because I was just barely hobbling around, then one day there was just no pain and I kept walking till it hurt, which it didn't anymore, and from one day to the next it was like I healed completely. :flower:

Thanks hun, yeah we're both fine

Honestly try not to be so hard on yourself, it's a major operation and although I say I was back to normal-ish if I did too much within the first say 6-8 weeks it would put me back a step :nope:

And yes your pre-eclampsia is probably adding to your recovery, seems like you have had a difficult time too hun :hugs: Some women have complications, some don't which is why the recovery time is different for different people x

thanks for your advice, :hugs:i think 6-8 weeks is probably more realistic for me given the pre eclampsia and all, yeah the swelling should subside by week eight I pray anyway. Every woman is different, I wish they made that more clear in those what to expect books and bounty magazines lol

and to Butterfly89 I am glad this thread has helped put your mind at ease, honestly its not that bad at all especially if you have no labour first and even if you do the recovery is actually okay. its the first 48 hours you need to get through and even then with the right pain relief and maternity care you will be fine, I had all these fears I would be lying in bed in a pool of my own blood an everything but that never happened lol in fact lochia is quite light after a c-section because they suction most of the blood away and they are on hand to change your pad, check your bleeding and your scar every few hours and they administer morphine if you need it then are on hand with anti inflammatory drugs and paracetamol and codeine if needed:thumbup:

I had an elective due to breech. I was deverstated and cried when finding out he was breech (37+4 weeks)

I recovered very well, walked the next day, pulled my own stitches out at 5 days and from 2 weeks felt more or less normal. Stopped painkillers at 4 days. Ive been back at the gym doing everything I did before from 6 weeks. I have most of my feeling back around the scar now too, the only annoying thing is my slight overhang and although im back to pre preg weight my belly is not what it used to be :(

I did have quite heavy bleeding afterwards though and I lost a lot of blood in my section which caused me not to produce any milk and I had to formula feed. Other than that it was great
