Hi,

We're on our 11th (or 12th?) cycle since I had a D&C for a miscarriage. We didn't have any problems conceiving before, but now we're almost at the year mark with no luck at all.

Just wondering if anyone else out there had the procedure and then had a hard time conceiving. I'm obviously worried about scar tissue and all that, but I really have no idea what's going on with us.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I had a D&C in December we are still waiting for surgery bfp however it took us a year and half to get that one... However I did ask about scar tissue and MD said not to worry unless I have a 3-4 back to back... Hope that helps

Hey. I'm 2 weeks post d&e. Took us 6.5 years to get the bfp. Based on history I'm not holding my breath for another mircale. Sometimes it can take even a normal fertile couple a year or more to conceive. If you want, talk to your OB about possibly seeing an RE. I doubt it's scar tissue, but you never know. Never hurts to have someone check.

I also had my last d&c in August last year and have had no luck since. My four year old is always saying 'the baby is taking a long time mummy' :( I'm in such limbo, TTC for the last 18 months has consumed me, I'm so tired of it but so desperate for it to happen for us too. Huge hugs to you all xx

Nolimit, I'm really sorry to hear about your miscarriage after 6.5 years. That's really horrible. Did you guys conceive naturally?

Kakae, are you guys planning on seeing a specialist soon? We're going at the end of July which will be one year since the D&C. Do you think your issues were caused by the procedure? Since we didn't have any issues in my prior pregnancy, I'm terrified I made the wrong choice with the surgery and may have really screwed up my fertility. I do have issues with spotting and a short LP, but that hasn't really changed so who knows.

Thank you! It was terrible news, like all of us have received on this thread. How long have you been with your OB? Do you have a high level of trust? You could request a laparoscopic surgery to ensure there is no scar tissue from the procedure. I would seek an RE sooner than a year, especially when you know you have spotting issues and a short LP. They may be able to help you straighten it out. Maybe you areally just as fertile as before and your cycle is preventing you from conceiving, not nessicarily your fertility :) not all treatments from an RE are always IUI or IVF.

As for me, we had conceived naturally. We got pregnant early April and lost the baby at the end of May. I was 9 weeks when we opted for a D&E. The baby passed at 6.

I definitely need to get a new OB. They sent me to get the ultrasound at my 10 week appointment, but then I had to call THEM a few days later to tell them I was miscarrying and had no idea what to do. The doctor hadn't even seen the ultrasound:growlmad: I actually had to explain to the nurse what I saw.

So in any case, I haven't been back since then and will look for a new doc if/when I get pregnant again. My insurance won't cover anything until it's been over a year so I figure I'll just wait one more month to get testing. Not knowing what is going on with my body is driving me crazy, and I really can't wait to get tested... even if it is bad news. I feel convinced it's related to the D&C, but you are right that it could be related to something else too. So I'm just playing the waiting game for now.

What about you and your partner? I know you said you've been trying for over 6 years which I'm sure makes your miscarriage a million times more heartbreaking. Have you guys already gone down the IUI/IVF path? Were you trying anything new that might have helped you get pregnant or do you think it was just chance that made it happen? I hope your recovery from the D&E is going as smoothly as possible and that you can start trying again soon if that's what you choose:flower:

We wanted to go down ivf before I got pregnant, we were waiting for cycle day 1 to start. We see our RE in July, having some day 3s sent this cycle to hopefully be able to start ivf the following cycle in early July. We will try on our own inbetween. My d&e recovery has been speedy and I feel like my cycles are in full swing. I had positive opks and a temp shift nearly two weeks ago, started spotting today so I anticipate I'll have an official day 1 this week sometime. The only issue is my cycles are so short I may try and ask my RE to move the appointment up by a week so we don't miss the next cycle, as it looks like I'm about a week earlier than excepted, naturally because of what my body has just been through. But with 22 to 25 day it's more difficult to plan if things are early or late cycle wise. Keep us updated for when you make your appointment. Until then keep trying on your own, you really never know!! :hugs:

Good luck with your IVF! I hope everything goes smoothly and you will have another BFP soon! Do you have a journal on here that I could follow?

As for us, we will probably keep trying, but I've given up on all the supplements and only DTD like twice during the fertile window because I found it all to be too stressful. Fingers are always crossed though:winkwink: I honestly just can't wait to have some answers... whatever they may be.

I'm also having the same issues with AF, but my OB thinks it's related to low progesterone, I had a round of clomid last month to check if it solves the issue, I was ovulating on CD15 and I did not spot during that cycle.

DH had 2 semen analysis tests & both were not good, so now he's on supplements & we were advised to wait until he repeats his tests, I will go on clomid if his tests improves in Sept.

I had 2 D&Cs and I'm also scared of scarring.

I hope you get some answers soon xx

Hi Omarsmom,

I remember you from the miscarriage forum. Sorry to see you are here now as well. I also wonder if my spotting is from low progesterone, but I've never had issues with my pregnancies once they've started (well the one was a miscarriage but was most likely genetic issues). I tried taking several supplements to increase progesterone (just in case), but I haven't noticed any difference. My first appointment is August 3rd so I'm hoping to get some answers then.

I hope the supplements help your hubby! Hopefully you're out of this forum soon:flower:
