Anyone else missing their rings?

I'm dreading not being able to wear my wedding and engagement rings - we've only been married for 11 months and in one way they are still such a novelty that I just love looking at them but also have gotten so used to them being there that I would miss them!

I have a bit of a phobia about rings getting too tight and having to be cut off though (I think it must have happened when I was young though I don't remember it) and I get quite panicky at the thought of it so I keep checking that they'll slide off before it's too late - when we went to Spain in July my fingers swelled so much that I couldn't get them off and my husband had to calm me down and get them off for me!

I still have mine on atm, and fingers crossed for a while yet.
Although they were abit roomier before.

I miss my rings. I took my engagement ring off at about 24 weeksish and the wedding one off about 7 weeks ago  I tried to put them on the other day and couldn't get them past my knuckle!

I've bought some larger mineral rings for when I go out, but TBH my hands are so swolen in the heat I'm better off not wearing anything. Feet and ankles are bad too. Hopefully they should settle down fairly quickly after the birth though- my midwife said it could take up to 3 weeks, which I don't think is too bad

3 weeks! Oh no, i stupidly assumed theyd go back to normal straight away.

i havent been able to wear my engagement ring since about 34 weeks, i felt lost with out it and the other week oh went out a brought a new ring (nothing fancy, cubic zicone from argos) just so i have something to wear!! its nothing special but i cried when he did that, he isnt usually romantic but to me i thought that is prob the sweetest thing he had ever done!! x

Oh thats so sweet, my dh would never think to do something like that.

Awww... Hunn, don't let those people bother you. I understand how you feel though. Even when I was with DH, people would give those looks. When my fingers got too swollen, I started wearing my engagement/wedding rings on my necklace. It's not the same feeling, but at least I was still able to "wear" them. I actually had my son three days ago, and I still can't get my rings on comfortably. :( Hopefully in the next week or so, the swelling will go down more and I'll be able to wear them again.

I miss my rings too :( I had to take my engagement ring off a long time ago, and my wedding ring came off about a month ago. I feel naked without them! I've been thinking of buying some (bigger) fake ones, just so I can still have something there...but haven't found anything I like yet that won't turn my finger green!

Mine are still on with no problems.

I do miss wearing mine, and I'm far too nervous about putting it on a necklace since i'm very clumsy and forgetful where things are put:blush: I could wear mine on and off depending on the day, but I just feel its safer to leave it off so it doesn;t have to be cut off or anything drastic as that:thumbup: and as for the folks in the neighborhood, bah, let them be ignorant if they want. honestly, people have nothing better to do than look down at others. When I was working ( currently on maternity leave) I had to have it off and I worked with the public i had a woman blatantly ask me " oh, look, your pregnant..are you married?" i was actually really REALLY grumpy that day for getting this question, so This may be seen out of line, but I replied " are you a bible thumper?" it made her mad but it got her off my back, probably was insensitive but well, the insinuation she was making upset me really bad at that point in time  hormones can be fun sometimes :haha:

My husband and I were very newly married when we got pregnant and I haven't been able to wear my rings since I was around 12 weeks.

I only got to wear my wedding ring for about 4 months before I had to take it off.

Mine are getting v tight now and I dont think I will be able to get them on much longer... :( Ive found an old ring thats bigger so Ill wear that for a bit and I might buy a cheapo costume jewellery type ring or two to wear until LO arrives and my fingers hopefully shrink back to normal...
