So.....im only 16 weeks but im a bit worried i don't have any boys names and.......you know that means im having a boy!
Anyone else got this problem?
Ive looked on every website there is and NOTHING!

I didn't have any boys names for a while. Well, I was set on one that OH really didn't like and I wasn't falling in love with any other names. But now I have a small shortlist that we are both really happy with and I'm sure that will change and grow in the months to come.

You will find a name. Sometimes one just suddenly crops up that you hadn't previously thought of, or that you had thought of but now suddenly seems to be perfect to suit your little one.

Some naming sites I've been visiting:

nameberry.com - the blog is quite good for ideas as well as the lists
babynamewizard.com - the advanced name finder is useful!

Also, I was getting caught up in looking only at girls names because I was finding girl names more fun to pick out. So what helped me is to completely forget about girls names for a while and spend a few weeks concentrating only on boys names. I've now narrowed down the boys names so much that I think it's almost time to move back on to girls names again! If you are staying on team yellow, a tactic like this might be helpful?

we have our names picked out for both boy and girl but tbh i went the easy route with the boys name and told my OH that he could pick the boys one :) im just grateful that i liked what he chose lol

id suggest just keep trying the websites or look back at topics on the forum about names and see if htere are any that stand out for you

I wouldn't worry. My mum had 4 children & she didn't have names picked out even after we were all born lol. My youngest brother i think went for about a week without a name as my mum & dad just couldn't agree on one! lol. Not everyone has names sorted & you've still got quite a while to think of some yet :) x

We are really struggling for boys names too, whereas there are loads of girls names we like which is a problem in itself lol!

You've got ages left to pick, so don't panic, something will turn up.
Listen out for names in TV programs, in the paper, people walking down the street etc etc

plenty of time, you'll one day find one you love. I loved Harrison, Alfie and Oliver but we're having a girl :-) so back to the drawing board ...

I havent struggled with a boys name, well saying that we do only have one so I guess we are struggling, but I couldn't find a girls name I liked but now I have, but I'm worried my cousin will get there first, she is due beginning of July and that name is on her list...can't begrudge her though, she did come up with it first and she got pregnant first and I might not even have a girl.

It is hard when everyone steals all the good names, i come from a big family, and most names are taken!

lol i couldnt think of ANY boys names i had loadsa girlie names
guess what im having... lol a boy... and im a week off 6months pregnant and i still havnt a clue but i think its gonna be one of the following ... cairo (ky for short) ... case... skyler/schyler orrrr lucca

im still waiting for that one name to jump at me

i don't go day without at least 5 people asking me what name i have picked out. I HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with my 8 year old. my exhusband and i could not agree and he was 3 days old when he finally was named on the way out the door to bring him home. i refuse to do that this time. my oh is such a kind and wonderful guy and it should be a lot easier this time around. but i am kind of stumped. i'm in the us and i swear everybody uses the same 5 names for little boys. i just don't know!

I've got the same prob but the other way now, can think of several boys names, but no girls ones I really like.....don't mind if I am having a boy or a girl! Maybe when I have the scan and find out some names will magically appear in my mind!!

i'm very set on a girl's name. haven't brought it up with OH, as we had some problems, but i do not want to argue about that name, because i'm so set on it!!! :-/

OH and former boss however believe it's a boy and i'm not prepared for that yet. all i can think of is naming it after a guy that was/is very important in my life. his name is henry... but then i still wouldn't have a clue for the middle name. OH came up with "seth alexander" and i first liked it, but thinking about my german family, i know they would have a big problem pronouncing "seTH" correctly.

well, luckily i still have several months to go!

We're in the same boat, we had a wonderful boys name and I had thought I had chosen my girls but now I'm not so sure. It seems that everyone else is choosing my girls name too! If anyone one asks now what name we have picked I tell them it's 'Fanny Florence' and we're going to shorten it to Fanny Flo ;) xx

We do this!!! Try and think of the most ridiculous name ever and tell them...like Eagle or Hunter or Shaqwanda hahahaha

:haha: that's a good idea-I may have to try that when people start pestering me about it. Our last name is Lee and because our son is called Brandon, my mum keeps thinking we are going to call this one Bruce!!! I might just say yes so she doesn't keep asking me! I am stuck for a boys name, it was going to be Mason because I really like that name but hubby can't decide and have heard a couple of boys being called it now so may go for something else I dunno:shrug: but everyone is SO sure this one is a little girl, I will laugh my pants off if it's another boy!!! I do have a girls name though:happydance:

Hey

I'm the opposite - I KNOW what I want to call my baby but everyone else turns their noses up or tells me I can't call a baby THAT! My mum is really annoyed with my name choice and although I keep pointing out that this is MY baby and not hers and I will call him/her what I want she still tells me that she will not let me call my baby by the name I want - it's gotten to the point now where I am actually thinking it'd be easier to call it something else to please everyone even though I have fallen in love with this name.

I am considering other names now but I don't have the same feeling about them.

You will find a name and it will stick, so don't worry too much.

I think I am having a girl based on my 20wk scan which is probably a good thing because I had the name of Finley for years even before I fell pregnant for a boy but my friend just had a baby a few weeks ago and named her boy that and guess what...I don't have any more boy names! I have however since decided I like Jenson for a boy but I think it's very unlikely now that I will have a boy x
