Anyone else NOT want an early scan?

I'm terrified of seeing my baby without a heartbeat again and think I may opt to decline an early scan. I supposed if everything looked great it might be a little reassuring, but if anything wasn't "perfect" I think it would make me even more worried. Plus we are going on a trip out of the country to visit family in a few weeks (when I'm 7-9 weeks) and if I have the scan that doesn't look good right before I think it might ruin the trip (which is with my pregnant sister in-law... NOT happy about that part!). Anyone else not want an early scan because too nervous? With my daughter and second pregnancy I was dying to get an early scan but not anymore...

I could have written this post. I DO NOT want an early scan. I have already been through 2 m/c's so ultrasounds do not elicit happy feelings for me....I would rather 'be in the dark' and if something is meant to happen then it will. I don't think I can go through another one with no heartbeat....
You are not alone.

I am with you on this. There is nothing worse than the moment the sonographer goes all quiet and concentrates on the screen...

I was offered scans at 7 and 9 weeks but I refused them, I find the experience too stressful which isn't good for anyone! My first scan is scheduled for the 22nd when I'll be 12 +2, and right now I'm in 2 minds about going for that one.

I wish i could change my mind...

I had one last week showing baby with heartbeat but a week too small. Apparently they can catch up an id have known nothing about it..

Rescan on Tuesday to see if they've grown an tempted to not go! X

I finally scheduled my first appt for August 7th - that will put me at 9 weeks, almost 10. I know she is going to do an u/s to confirm and I am hoping that enough time has passed so I will be able to see something. So scared!

I'm going to see my doctor at 6 weeks but I think I'll decline the ultrasound. Depending how I'm feeling I might get one at 9 weeks but I'll definitely get the first trimester screen at 11-12 weeks. I'm sure if I have any bleeding though like last time I'll want one sooner, but in general ignorance is bliss... Glad I'm not alone in feeling this way!

Yeah that is how I feel too. As long as I do not have any bleeding or spotting I am leaving it alone until the 9th week when I have my first one.
