Just checking to see if there's anyone else out there on bed rest. I'm 23 weeks 5 days pregnant with twins and have been placed on bed rest because of cervical length shortening. My ob wants me on bed rest for 10 weeks :nope:

Am on bedrest - this is my 6th week, got 2 and a half more weeks to go! I have complete placenta previa and cannot go into labour so will have a c section at 37wks. It was so tough at the begining, was 29wks and had bleeding and they were talking emergency c section! Much happier now, got on with it and had little countdowns to mini milestones to get me through. Have daily visitors in the week which is something to look forward to and everyone has been great, really supportive and not forgotten about me languishing here!

You´ll get through it, my recommendation - lots of boxsets/ DVDs, books, go online and order stuff, at least you´ll be in for the deliveries and it will help you feel like you are doing something! Also I made a rule for the first few weeks, every visitor had to bring a tupperware meal to put in the freezer - been using that for my lunches on the days hubby cant come home and do my lunch and also saving them for the meals after the baby is here as I had wanted to do a big cook up and stock the freezer with homecooked meals myself, but since I can´t have had everyone else do it for me!! Its been great!

When I have been superbored and the day is passing so slowly I forced myself to nap, passes the time and you need the rest. On the plus side my solataire score will take some beating now!! he he Good luck and hang in there!

Good for you getting to 34 weeks! The beginning is the hardest I guess not knowing what the end point will be. I'm going to have to get creative and yes, I've already had my nap today! Thanks.

Hi hun. I was on bed rest for 8 months with my twins - born last year. I had a cervical stitch in place after my second baby was born at 24wks. It is hard, but the bed rest really does work in lengthening a short cervix, and is totally worth it chick. I managed to get to my scheduled section at 38 plus wks, and credit that to bed rest and the stitch. Get in touch if you need anything ;) x

Thanks for your message. 38 weeks is impressive and so is bed rest for 8 months! I'm trying to take it day by day.

Im on bed rest it is probably the hardest thing I have ever done.... I have been on bed rest for 8 weeks due to signs of pre-eclampsia

WOWSSSSEEEERRSSSS 8 mnths of bedrest!! I CANNOT IMAGINE HOW HARD that must have been - thats so amazing, well done you!!

Tbh, it wasn't hard at all compared to the 6 months spent in the NICU with my preemie
:( I was just too scared to move with the twins, and was determined they were gonna stay put for the duration ;) It was wonderful to finally be able to get out and about after their birth tho, and husband's credit card certainly felt the strain of my new found freedom

Tabitha - Good for you that you're over 34 weeks! How far along are they looking to take you?

The morning's seem to be the hardest for me. I keep thinking that I should be leaving for work. I'll eventually change my view on what my reality is but it's difficult. I used to work like crazy and do so many things when I had free time. I'm heading over to the hospital today to see my ob and the maternal fetal specialist. It's amazing how excited I am to be going! And I'm making my husband go through drive thru Dunkin Donuts to get a Baskin Robbins sundae. Even more exciting for me! Just like a kid.

You're almost there! That's the nice thing about bed rest. It's miserable the whole way through but then you get to the end of it, have your baby and forget that you went through all of that. Kind of like childbirth I guess!

This is week 3 of bed rest. I am 28 weeks. Was placed on bed rest bc of funneling and open cervix. Now they say my cervix's hyperactive(ever heard of this?)
