Hello ladies, as the title says really, does anybody else here suffer from eczema? I first had it when i was seven years old but soon grew out of it and stayed clear of it for a very long time. Until a year and eight months ago when i stopped breast feeding my daughter. It wasnt that bad though, just got a little bit on my hand so it didnt really bother me. I soon got it on my arm quite bad so i went to the doctors and got a cream to take it away, it didnt work though and only cleared up when i went on holiday. I think the sun is very good for that. So anyway after i came back the eczema also returned after a short while, again on my hand but not my arm which was good. Since then its just got worse, its spread to my face, around my eyes and mouth to be precise and slowly spreading to the top of my nose area. Its very itchy, red and extremely dry! Some days it gets so bad i wake up with swollen eye lids and have difficulty opening them. My mouth also gets very bad and i find it hard to eat because opening my mouth hurts, it causes me to get col sores at the sides of my mouth. Iv been to the doctors countless times and been prescribed many lotions and creams of all sorts, some have worked for a short time but it eventually returns. I even got referred to the hospital to see if they could be of more help. The doctor gave me a very strong steroid cream that worked again for a short while. Iv had patch tests done to see if im allergic to anything, that came back all clear. Iv ordered lots of different creams online and none seam to work, iv tried natural remedies, all of it basically. Im at my wits end with this! I just want to be able to go out and feel good about the way i look. Make up wont even cover it up, just crumbles off and makes it so noticeable. Is there anyone else with this problem? or does anybody have any advice for me? I just want my nice skin back  well done if you made it this far xx

Have you tried evening primrose oil, It sorts me out every time.

You can take it in tablet form and for areas that are really bad just burst the capsual with a pin and rub it onto the area. Works really well.

Let me knowhow you get on.

I used to have a bad case of eczema and I would always regret scratching it. What worked for me is I use sunflower oil. It's effective.

I was born with it and suffered really bad until my early teens, I remember once when I was a kid I was in hospital and had a load of student doctors staring at my skin. I grew out of it when I was about 12-13, and then just had occasional flare ups when I was stressed or used a fragranced product. It came back again when I was pregnant but seems to have gone again now.

I tried loads of different creams growing up, and none really worked for me.

I get really bad eczema - I've had it all my life - but now it's mostly on my hands. I used to have it right up the backs of my legs when I was little, and on my face but thankfully that's all cleared up.

Have you tried calendula cream? You probably have, but I usually find that pretty good, or anything with white soft/liquid paraffin in it.

Also, if you get those awful cuts on your fingers with it (which I do all the time!), snowfire on the cuts and then a plaster clears them up overnight for me.

If I think of anything else I will let you know. Poor you, eczema is awful, and so painful :hugs:
