We miscarried in Feb '10. We have now been ttc for 18 months..... I dont know how much more patient I can be!! Anyone else struggling to conceive #2?

Yup! Just check out the secondary infertility section! It's been 17 years for me (not ttc, but since I gave
birth!) and ttc over 2 years and between 2-3 years ntnp before that. I am mid-thirties, married a few years ago finally to an amazing (childless) guy! So ttc #2 for me but #1 for him. He is 2 years younger than me (cougar, lol!!) it's very frustrating for sure! I have recently asked my husband not to tell me when people he knows get pregnant(unless I need to know) cause I'm sick of hearing it. Maybe not the best attitude, but I'm getting by!

Also sorry to hear about your mc...I have a friend that had 2, and just delivered a perfect boy last week! I can't imagine how hard it would be to deal with :hugs:

Hey Laine,
I am on the same boat as you. TTC #2 since '09. MC in Feb '11. My DD has been longing to have a sibling and being unable to give her that, kills me.
Everything is normal with me and DH. Unexplained infertility it is!

have been getting Acupuncture for a year now. Planning to take clomid next month.

I really hope this month does it for you! with wheat germ oil and all!
baby dust to you.

Sorry about your mc. We've been ttc for 21 months and had a chemical in April 11. Nothing seems to be wrong with DH, but I believe the chemcial caused me to not ovulate, so I'm trying soy isoflavones before getting put on any fertility drugs. It's very frustrating.

Hi, we've been ttc #2 for about 15mths with m/c in Dec 10...nothing since other than lost of meaningless non-symptoms lol!
Just been referred to consultant for HSG so at least moving forwards a bit...don't know how old the rest of you are but I'm 38 and doc said she can refer after about 6mths at this age (under 35 she said can be up to 2yrs though when I was 34 I got referred for HSG as well so it does depend on doc or if you have any other circumstances eg irregular periods)

Hi angel! How long did it take for you to conceive your dd? It took us 7 months for ds and that felt like forever then.... Little did I know I had a much longer wait in my near future!

Why are you starting clomid? I want to ask my dr to write me a prescription but idk if that would be silly bc I do ovulate. Acupuncture sounds interesting too! What is that like??

Ps. I think February is a bad luck month! I personally think it should be removed from the calendar. Worst month ever!!

Hi autigers! Hopefully it is only a matter of time! It has got to be in our side by now! Sorry about your chemical :( I can understand how upsetting that must have been. Just when you think your prayers have been answered.... I have heard that the soy made a few people's cycles a little crazy. Is it supposed to help with ovulation?

So sorry about your mc :hugs: I am 29. We have been ttc #2 since I was 27. We saw a fertility specialist a couple of weeks ago and she wants to do an hsg and then IUI. All the intervention made me a little (a lot) nervous so we are going to wait a little while. Are you worried about the hsg or am I freaking out for nothing?

:haha::haha: well I guess I have 7 years before the trade up!!
Just FYI I have also done acupuncture, and I think it has some benefits. I saw a difference in my af, and felt more relaxed. Obviously I didn't get pg, but I only went a handful of times. The lady doing my acupuncture ended up being pregnant-she was great, but I just didn't want to go there anymore. Also something I cautioned people about in the past-she told me one month I had a "pregnant pulse" and basically almost said congrats! It was crushing to then get my af. So I would just be cautious about that kind of thing.

yup hun been taken a while for me, I have a boy and then started TTC 2 years ago, 16 months later I conceived and lost the baby 2 weeks ish later and TTC again for another 7 months now xx

Hi ladies. Imogen was born in August 2009 and we've not used any protection since then so I suppose you could say its been 25 months for us. I have bad PCOS and ovulate if i'm lucky about 3 times a year! Trying to lose some weight to get referred again but taking Soy Isoflavones in the meantime x

I was pregnant the third cycle with my DD . She is going to be 4 next month.

The fertility specialist I saw wanted me to start on clomid (though i ovulate every month) because it increases the chances of pregnancy by releasing more than 1 egg. This is along with IUI.

Acupuncture is nice (no pain from the needles or anything) in that it helps balance hormones and reduce stress. But hasn't helped me enough yet i guess.

Yep. Another bfn :/ my temp also took a big dive this morning so i know i will see af on saturday. I called FS this morning to schedule the hsg. I just don't understand what the problem is..... Everything was timed perfectly again.

From what I've been reading some say it has helped them O sooner and some have even gotten PG. I figured I would try it and see what happens. Hopefully all of us that have been ttc for so long will get our prayers answered finally! Especially for those who have unexplained infertility and those who do not O!

I have one DD but been TTC #2 with current hubby. we've been together 7 yrs and although we were NTNP I always thought that we would get pregnant fast but it wasn't the case. we finally got our :bfp: last Oct but sadly had a m/c and we've been TTC since Dec 2010. Im going through fertility meds now and and am currently in my TWW of my 2nd IUI. I have low egg reserve and Im 36.

Laine - I'm not too worried about the HSG as I've had one before - it was painful but not horrendous, though I know people report varying levels of pain. I had it because my periods had stopped though I now think that was due to stress (as they started again when I was less stressed!) but was all clear and we weren;t actually ttc #1 very long. Can you decide on the IUI once you have results as the HSG seems to be the first check as I guess it identifies or rules out any blockages, and if you have any, they can hopefully be removed and either way you can ttc naturally for a while. After the HSG they might not think you need an IUI (or not straight away). The HSG didn't feel like that much of an 'intervention' whereas I guess IUI would...Obviously everyone feels different but I personally felt HSG was a useful inital test
