really achey hips?
As there isn't any other option than to sleep on one of my sides, I think the weight of the baby is taking it's toll on my hips at night.
I tried sleeping with a big pillow between my legs to try and alleviate the discomfort but it did nothing.
Anyone else???

yup. And a hard bump  Strangely I'm most comfy on my back still!!! :dohh: Even though I know we shouldn't, and I can't stay that way for long I might add but it seems to alleviate the hip pain for a bit! Although I'm not QUITE as far along as you
I'd keep trying the pillow (or two!) from now on though hon, I think at your stage hip pain is also from baby pushing down!!
xx

Yes I do- especially on the right side. Have been sleeping with a pillow between my knees for last few weeks which helps a bit

Yeh i wake up with a right pain in my hip it's horrible .... even though i'll be getting up to feed i can not wait now to sleep on my stomach, not need a pee, no pillow inbetween my legs ... BLISS!

Yes and I too have taken to having short stints on my back to relieve the pain. It's only quite a recent thing though, last week or so.

Yeah, it's a recent thing for me too, I end up waking around 5ish in pain and spend the next few hours upright dozing which seems to help but I can't sleep properly throught the night like it. Come on baby come out now, mama is uncomfortable!! hehe

Yep, i find the only position where i dont wake up with achey hips and belly is sleeping on my back, know its not the best position but i feel best doing so atm.
xx

Yep, posted about this yesterday. It's agony and seems to continue for most of the morning after getting out of bed. Pillows aren't working and I try to lay on my back but it makes me breathless! x

It's likely you need some support under your bump as well as between your legs. I bought a feeding cusion, in Argos, it's semicircular in shape, part goes between my legs and the rest under my bump. It has helped loads, although I do still have to be strict with myself and make myself try to sleep on left hand side only.

I've been sleeping with support under my bump from around 25 weeks hehe got a special cushion. Sleeping on your back at my stage in pregnancy is just not possible, then all my insides hurt lol

i had this problem from about 32 weeks - i got a dream genii pillow and saw the physiotherapist and have been fine now for about 2-3 weeks. i know it will probably come back, but have open access to see the physio when i need to. my hips, especially the right one, are very loose and they were twisting forward and causing the pain. i would recommend physio, even though it might seem pointless when you're so close to your due date, as it can be something which persists after the birth if you don't sort it out.

hope you feel better soon x

and me!!!! my back also hurts too, I feel like an old woman!!! The pain then gives me a headache!!grrr!!

Oh, I just started a new thread about this - ooops! Sounds like me. My dream genii pillow does help, but I can't stay on one side the whole night. Like others have said, lying on by back in the morning helps it to go away, but I know I shouldn't be doing that!

I bought the boppy pregnancy wedge to go under my bump, and then I push a pillow really tightly under my back when i'm on my side. Also a pillow between my legs. It's helped me alot!

Yep, achy hips is now my main complaint at this point, apart from breathlessness. I try sleeping with a pillow between my knees but I toss and turn so much that it falls out! I cant sleep on my back cos I cant breathe like that. Its pretty rough!
