As my subject says - my LO is 14 weeks old today - he is a big/long baby and weighed 15lb 11 on Monday. I am now making 8oz bottles for him and was feeding every 3 hours during the day. However in the last couple of days he seems to be getting hungrier before 3 hours.......so have been giving him a bottle after 2h30 or 2h45. Has anyone else made up 9oz bottles for their baby (it seems like a lot?!?!)

Im sure Connah had a growth spurt at that age.
He was on 8oz bottles every 3 hours during his growth spurt, but after a few weeks of that he started to go 4 hours between feeds, still at 8oz x

Hi hun,

Earl eats every 2.5hrs during the day...he has 6oz a bottle but wont take more, even if I make him wait so that's his capacity. He was 9lb6 at birth and 52cm, and now weighs 16.5lb at 12 weeks, so he's a large lad too. I would offer him 9oz to see what he does. If it wont fit, then he will be sick or he wont drink it. If he's ok, then it will stay down.

Is hungry baby milk an option? This is designed to delay weaning and may allow him to either go longer or maintain his current feeding schedule. (It didn't agree with Earl but may do for your LO)

I've given up trying to second guess Earl....I just go by what he wants, when he wants it.

Ava is 11 wks old and eats 7 oz every 3 hrs and also eats cereal twice a day and baby food once a day. ALL babies are different. Your son will eat when he is hungry and stop when he is full. Don't worry hun, you should be glad he is eating well! :)

Phoebe is 14 weeks and has 7oz bottles and was weighed on Weds at 14lb 5oz. She has actually dropped a bottle this week - now has 5 every 24 hours (with the occassional 6 bottle day). I found I was feeding her when she wasn't hungry and she was leaving quite a bit of milk.

She sometimes has an 8oz at bedtime if not feed for ages before. I don't think 8oz sounds that bad. I know I can't get 9oz in my Dr Brown bottles so dread the day she wants more!
