Wondering anyone else's LO does this.

Earl has this routine at the moment:

6am - 6oz
9am - 6oz
12noon - 7oz
3-4pm - 8oz
5.30pm - optional 4oz
7pm - 8oz
10.30pm - 7oz

Try as I may, I cannot get him to take more in the mornings, and he always gets really hungry in the evenings (I often have to give him that extra couple of oz's at about 5.30 otherwise he's trying to eat my arm while he's in the bath!!)

Wondering if anyone else has this or is your child easy going and takes the same amount each time? Lucky devils lol

I feed on demand. His feeds r usually 5 oz bottles (4 or 5 bottles) for day time, but sometimes he takes extra 3-4 oz & other times 2-3 oz less. before bedtime he takes 6 oz bottle, & some nights I have to give him extra 1 or 2 oz to help him settle.

It's never the same, but the average is a total of 5 bottles 5 or 6 oz

Haha, you're probably going to hate me then, Brady has 4 8oz bottles a day, it doesn't matter when he has them but that's all he has.

I'm mean Mummy though, he doesn't get fed as soon as he wakes because he doesn't cry so I get him up and changed and he then has the full 8oz, he'll have another feed about 11am and generally finishes all of it, then another at about 2pm and he will normally leave a bit of this, maybe 1 or 2 ozs, and then last bottle about 5:30pm which he'll have most of. He goes to bed at 7pm, I've offered feeds before he goes to bed an he'll have a few ozs but isn't really bothered so I've stopped offering it now.

Does Earl want feeding straight away when he wakes in the morning? You could stretch that out a bit but I reckon he'll probably cut a couple out himself when he starts solids.

That must cost a fortune in formula though.

He he yeah....a tin will last 5 days if we're lucky lol.

I'm sure he will start to drop feeds once he's onto solids - He's definitely going through his 4 months growth spurt at the moment as he's eaten at 4.30, 8, 10.30 and 1 so far today, and I'm just about to go and make up a feed for him to have after 4 :dohh: As long as he's happy lol. He may come out the other side of the growth spurt a bit more organised lol.

Also it depends as his 6am feed sometimes turns into a 4.30 'night-feed' and in that case I make him wait, like this morning. He woke today at 7, but didn't eat til 8. He's just a gannet lol

Aww, he needs to keep those gorgeous cheeks chubby though.

Brady's 4 month growth spurt was a nightmare, he was grumpy and actually refusing some feeds and just didn't know what to do with himself. He didn't actually put on much weight though, just got longer!

My brothers were a bit like Earl, apparently they put on nearly a pound a week until they weaned and then slowed down.

That sounds about right. I forgot to weigh him this morning (4 months today so time to be weighed lol) but I'm guessing at about 19lb. At 15 weeks, so 2.5 weeks ago he was 17lb 9oz!

Just hoping that the weaning will click when we start and it will all settle lol....otherwise we may have a child with hollow legs lol.

He had 7oz at 4, then another 8oz at bedtime, and will have 7ish oz at about 10.30, so today's grand total........(drum roll!) ........ 46oz! Sheesh! lol :haha:

looooooool. Omar usually takes 6 oz for night feed. tonight he wasnt full! I gave him extra 2 oz, then another 2 oz after 30 mins !! now after 1 hr I think he wants more!

Never happened before

Its crazy isn't it?! Is it just me as well, but I didn't even know about growth spurts when I was pregnant, they were never mentioned in my baby book!

I think at his height Brady was having 42oz when he was still having night feeds, he went from having 2-3oz per feed in the first week to 5 or 6oz in week 2 and just went up from there.

I'm hoping it's a good sign though and that he'll love his food when he starts weaning :)
