Anyone else's baby Transverse Lie at 28 weeks?

Transverse also HURTS. Did/does it hurt anyone else? When i get braxton hicks my bump goes into a weird square shape around his body and boy does that hurt! Hope he turns soon!

Yes! I never knew it hurt so much but its really painful when they move and I got so many reactional BHs.

Ooh yep so know what you mean - I got that weird shape with BH when LO was transverse. I feel so much more comfortable since it turned (esp. in bed). Felt like I was being stretched from side to side, and had really bad backache. I've traded that in for a head pushing on my bladder, and a bit more heartburn as I now have a bum in my ribs :haha:... but it is totally worth it!

My backache is way worse now and my SPD got worse BUT still way better than transverse.

I cant work out how this little lady is at the mo - I think she keeps flipping between transverse and breech

Yep at our appointment yesterday the DR did a quick u/s and it showed that she's laying sideways now, her head on the right of my stomach and feet to the left, in the "hammock" as he called it. He said it didn't matter now and they move around a lot, so i'm not concerned at all about it, she was very tangled up though with her foot up by her head! I mean that can't be comfortable!?

I was talking about this with my MIL today actually. She's a retired MW and I was saying how many women are told their baby "should" be head down at whatever week, and actually it doesn't even matter until about 36 weeks.

In my first pregnancy she was head up until about 35 weeks, when she suddenly turned into the head down position. Nobody was concerned and I was certainly not offered any scans or any offers to manually turn her. Before that the baby is still able ot turn so easily, and even if they're head down at one appointment, 10 mins later they can be head up again.

At my 29 week appointment with this baby she was head down, but I know for a fact she was head up yesterday. She still has so much space in there that she's able to move quite freely still

I hear of so many women that are told it's bad etc, when it really doesn't matter so early. It only matters once you hit 36ish weeks. :hugs:

Transverse babies oddly don't turn as easily as a breech baby will  No idea why!

mine is transverse and it does really hurt. My belly goes rock hard like half a doughnut with a dip in the middle. My doc said that I shouldn't worry about it yet as many transverse babies turn around from this point on. I am 31 weeks at the mo so hopeful there is still time.

Totally agree with this - they worry expectant mums unnecessarily :growlmad: - when I had my 29wk growth scan (after they realised baby was transverse), I asked the sonographer if it was normal for baby to be on its side this far along, and she replied 'it's not TOTALLY unheard of' - so not common then lol?! - that made me leave there with it on the back of my mind all the time.

I know some ladies will be unlucky and baby won't turn in time, but also it's nature generally isn't it that they come out headfirst, so trust in that, even it happens really late in the pregnancy :flower:
