I get this light cramping every once in a while, scares me. I get it around my uterus or near both my ovaries.
But from what I've read from others, it seems really common at 5 weeks.
If it's not round ligament pain since that happens later, then what else could it be?

How many of you have this?

Could be your uterus stretching. Or it could be like breakthrough period pains- I am 12 weeks and still thought yesterday I was going to come on my period because I got the cramps on the day I was due!

I had quite moderate pains from 5-6 weeks, even woke me up at night. Don't worry it's just everything stretching and making room for baby :-) xx

As long as there it's no bleeding along with the cramping it's all normal stretching

I had mild cramping at 5 weeks too but as what Sharan said, as long as there's no bleeding, there's no cause for alarm. It's just the uterus expanding ;)

I'm also five weeks and having the same thing. Very mild and only occasionally and for short periods of time. I'm a doctor Google addict (ugh), and like everyone else has said, its pretty normal without bleeding. But still nerve racking..

It's very normal as long as there's no bleeding. I had pretty painful AF like cramps around 4-5 weeks. I had them on and off, maybe 20 times a day, and they'd last 1-2 minutes. Sometimes they would hurt pretty bad it would scare me.. ESPECIALLY after an orgasm. 6 weeks they became much less frequent and painful. I still get them a few times a day, but they do not hurt at all. It happens in the beginning because your uterus is going through SO much change and is growing at a rapid pace (even though you can't tell externally). After awhile you become more adjusted to it. No worries :) xx

I had cramping from weeks 4 to 7 or so, at the beginning I was sure I was getting AF but when It didn't show up I tested and surprise!

I know it doesn't matter how much people tell you to relax you may still get stressed about it, but as long as there is no bleeding and the cramps are not awful you should be ok:flower:

I've had it even earlier assuming my dates are correct. Haven't been in yet. In any case I had cramping towards the end of week 3. I asked my mom and she said she had it until probably at least week 7 or 8 with me. So I wasnt too worried... It's just uncomfortable at night when I want to sleep.

I had cramping around 5-8 weeks and was sure there was something wrong but everything is fine. I've never really had bad period pain and I think that's what was making me worry more. Try to relax its just baby growing  now I find it quite reassuring - strange I know.

Xxx
