anyone given birth at grimsby?? c sections?

Hi!

Im due to have second baby in feb and have requested grismby hospital (even tho lincoln is nearer) because ive heard good and bad things respectively! Its going to be an elextive c section, and at my last hospital I was on a ward witj three other c section mums the whole time I was in. I really dont want this again and was just wondering if anyone had had a baby here, especiallt a section, and knows whether you share a room or get the privacy of your own pls?

I've not given birth at Grimsby, but I have heard great things about it! I would rather give birth there than lincoln(bad experience with my first daughter) but with it being an hour away and my last labour being 1hr 40mins start to finish it just isn't practical!..
When I enquired 3 years ago with my daughter I think I was told that Grimsby has more private rooms available(quite a few if I remember correctly), sorry I'm not much help

Hello, I'm also off to Grimsby. Lincoln and Grimsby are both about the same distance for us but I too have heard not so great things about Lincoln. If you can, get booked in on the 'Parentcraft' class they hold at the hospital. We found the most useful bit was the tour of the wards etc. It is very modern and seems to have all the gear. Yes I had DS there although not a section
They have ldrp rooms there so you stay in the same room before during and after and they have put up beds for oh's.
I think there are some rooms for 2 people but depends how busy it is.
It is quite modern, they used to have music systems and tea and coffee making facilities in all the rooms but I think quite a bit has been stolen over the years!

I was closer to s****horpe but chose grimsby for that reason. Didn't want to go from ward to delivery room back to ward etc.

My sister had both her daughters there, not by c section though apparently its a good hospital for maternity, if I was close by Id be going there I'm going to S****horpe. My cousin had 3 c sections there and never had any problems.

Im booked to go to Grimsby for my second as I had my first there. I too am closer to S***Thorpe but refuse to go there. It was brilliant, clean, friendly staff and facilities were brill
