Anyone go to the gym?

What have you found has worked best for you in terms of weight loss?

Usually I workout at home to fitness dvds but i'm getting bored of those now and find myself putting the workout off so thought i'd try something new. Feeling rather intimidated as i've not been to the gym in 5 years :argh:
 
I go to the gym..

My fave thing to do is body pump classes
They go by so quickly and burn a lot of calories per class.

When I can't make classes I tend to do the cross trainer and rower
for cardio and spend around 40 mins doing strength training
as I have found strength training changes my body more and
helps to get the weight off.

If you are joining a gym that will do you a program when you sign
up then definitely do it and change your workout every 6 weeks or so

I do 50 mins cardio - cross trainer, stationary bike, rowing and treadmill

Then 30 mins weight and moves (crunches, leg raises etc) to build core
 
I go to the gym too :)
I do weights; deadlifts, squats, rows, military press, manmakers, snatches, cleans etc.
I &#9829; doing weights.

I'm in a similar boat! I feel bit self-conscious of going to the gym while I'm so unfit (i know it's all in my head tho). so i was thinking of running outside, getting myself fit before i join gym. but the weather has decided otherwise :dohh:

but in terms of weight loss, previously, i aimed to go gym 5-6 days a week. i aimed to do running three times and classes 5-6 times.

but weight loss was most effective when i controlled my diet. basically i read labels and limited foods high in sugar and high in fat - that was hard, but afterwards I felt fantastic!!!! (mind I still had fatty food once/twice a week - but not as bad as i have been)
