Just wondering if anyone had some advice on private treatment. We are seeing FS for the first time on 19th Jan. I have had 21 day bloods done twice and DH has had SA. I am ovulating and DH has high sperm count but lowish motility. We are considering going private but wondered if we need to have had all investigations done on NHS before we will be seen e.g. HSG and lap & dye etc?

I would recommend having your investigations done on the NHS as they can be quite costly privately. Also, if you get your investigations done on the NHS you can be on the waiting list and go for private treatment in the meantime. That's what we did anyway.

good luck

Maz how do you take all your tests to a private clinic? When I asked for my test results from my old clinic they said that I needed t put it in writing and pay an admin fee....but they didnt send the HSG scan or USS but just the report...is that enough for private??

The private clinic I am going to wouldn't see me without a GP referral, so she sent all of the test results to them with the referral. Any bloods that were outstanding, such as HIV/Hep B & C/AMH, were carried out at the clinic before my first consultation.

I didn't get my results from the Infertility Clinic at the hospital as they may well have tried to charge, but your GP should have a copy of all your investigations and results to date.

xx
