My boy is breech. My first born was a perfect vaginal waterbirth but this time its being suggested I either have a c section or attempt a breech birth

Anyone got experience of this? Cheers

i remember seeing a lady posting here and in natural birthing session that had a breech birth story in her signature.

i think breech birth can be done vaginally as well, you just need to find a supportive doctor/midwife for it. they now push women into c-sections mainly because they're not trained for delivering breach as much as standard vaginal deliveries, but if you find a supportive doc i'd definitely try that route before opting for a c-section.

so many people were born breach vaginally when we were kids, or 40 years ago and such... good luck with everything!

I had a vaginal breech delivery with my daughter. There's a great group on facebook called Breech Birth UK with lots of really helpful and knowledgable ladies who I'm sure will be able to help. :flower:

Hi I dont know if its to kate to be of assistance to you as you dont have a pregnancy or baby ticker. But feel free to PM me with any questions as I had a vaginal breech birth last year.
I'm glad to hear you have been given the option of a vaginal breech birth at least :). My hospital would only do a cesarean and I had to have a fight and in the end travel 3 hours to a supportive hospital.
Finding an experienced and supportive practitioner to have a VBB is 90% of the difficulty tbh. My breech birth was an amazing experience and far easier and shorter than my first cephalic birth. You definitely want an experienced practitioner though, as if something goes wrong then risk is greater than with head down babies so you do need someone who knows exactly what to do.

Good luck if you haven't had the baby yet.

Thank you. Last week my midwife said he was head down but I'll find out tomorrow if that's still the case. I'm not convinced to be honest x

Hi! :hi:

My baby is breech at 38+2 today. Our ECV yesterday was unsuccessful, so I'm going for a breech vaginal birth in a labour ward. I originally wanted a home birth, but only if Baby was cephalic after ECV. Our hospital is 45 minutes away, and I feel it'd be too much of a risk to attempt breech vaginal at home.

Is your baby still breech Weenie19? How far along are you? :flower:

Hi no baby is head down and im in early labour.

Good luck with your delivery. I look forward to reading your birth story x

Hi I had a natural breech with Ds2. Although this was unplanned and I got to hospital near the end of my labour.
I birthed on just g&a and also only had a slight tear. I did have to get out of the water though which I was a little disappointed in.

Gl xx
