I have 2 frozen embryos in storage and am on the waiting list for FET. Can anyone let me know if they have had this done, what happens and were they successful please?

hi

i donated eggs for my sis a few years ago, each cycle she had to freeze at least 4 , the fresh ones never worked and she got pg with BOTH cycles with the frozen eggs.. now a boy and a girl :)

on the 1st cycle it was the 2nd lots of frozen ones. On the 2nd cycle it was the 1st set of frozen and the quality was not that great..

Fingers crossed the quality of the eggs were good in the 1st place. hope this makes u feel better

Hi I had FET in September, i was pretty unlucky. You can read my story in my journal, but the essense of it is i had 4 great embryos, 2 very best grade and the other 2 slightly lower but still good. They only freeze the best embryos as we know. Anyhow I was really excited and hopeful, I knew that there was only a 70% thaw rate so expected 1 maybe 2 to fail BUT i was totally unlucky! 2 died on thaw and the otehr 2 one top quality 8 cell with no fragmentation went to 3 cells and the other 7 cell slight fragmentation went to 2 cells. Now i dont want you to this SHIT, cos sseriously this is rare, BUT i also want you to be prepared for perhaps some to fail, i wasnt prepared for that. My RE even said "if they dont thaw fine then i will hang myself". I just want you to know that out of 4 embies expect 1 or 2 to fail and if they dont it is a bonus. Most suffer some cell loss but anymore than 50% cell loss and they generally dont put them back. I have read many many success stories with FET and just think I was unlucky and perhaps there may even have been a mistake at the lab. FET overall is MUCH MUCH easier on teh body and as long as your embies survice then you feel much more prepared for a pregnancy, healthier in body and mind simply because you have been there before with a fresh cycle and are stronger for it.

I have my fingers crossed for you embies XXX

If you have anymore questions please just ask :) x

hi

i had fet in september. they thawed 7 embryos 1 didnt make it through the thaw but by transfer day there was only 2 left it did result in a bfp which i lost a week later. i found fet a lot better than ivf as i had it on a natural cycle so felt alot healthier and relaxed and knew what to expect. i still have 2 frozen embryos left i do hope they make it when i decide to try again in the new year but looking at the numbers of my last fet (2 out of 7) i dont really know if any will make it.

i do wish u all the best and hope our lil frosties make it and we both get the result we want xxxxxx

We donated our 6 frozen embryos. Four were defrosted last March and they were able to implant 2. The couple are pregnant with one child due anytime now.

My SIL had nearly didn't bother freezing her embryos because of the bad press FET gets sometimes. She did FET and fell PG with her longed for daughter.

Good luck.
