Anyone had Laparoscopy & Dye test done at same time as their period?

Hi, I'm really worrying about this - I've got my lap and dye booked for Tuesday (CD26) and I started to spot last night and I can feel AF coming (CD23 today). Just wondering if anyone has had a lap and dye done when they have been on their AF. I've made contact with the hospital ward that is doing the lap and dye and they have advised me to go in anyway, however she did not seem confident in her answer and told me it will depend on how clear the views are. I'm so p***ed off and upset now, why does supid have to show up early this month!

They won't do it if you are on your period. They will reschedule it. It is not healthy flushing menstrual blood back from whence it came and the dye could do that as it was passing through. That's what i was told by my hospital, anyway.

Oh crap! We did not TTC this month as we were advised not to before lap and dye and now I feel is coming so could have tried - if its rescheduled that will be another cycle of not TTC - I feel like screaming

I've left a message for the pre op nurse to call me back.

I had mine done when AF was here I was on CD 2 they just told me that they wouldn't do it if I was bleeding heavily. I've had no problems after mine.

Thanks carebear - that's interesting to hear, I don't feel so worried now. Maybe it varies from hospital to hospital. DH tried to reassure me earlier reminding me at our last FS appointment FS asked me questions re AF and when my last period started etc so FS should know that AF is due anytime now - I have my FS doing the op x

Hi, yes i just had lap and dye and it was the 2nd day of my period (heavy day!) it was fine, they just suck it out of the way and carry on.

Hi Emma, was your op a success? When did you have yours? I had mine a month ago and waiting patiently for AF to arrive so we can get on with things...
