As a lot of you know, I had my HSG last tuesday (almost a week ago). I had a little bit of spotting and cramping for a couple of days following, as was to be expected. I have been fine since until yesterday (Saturday) evening. I started getting really bad cramps, not really like menstural cramps, but more like sore muscles. I have never been bloated before (I know, every woman I say that to scowels at me!) so I don't really know what that feels like. I asked my mom and my sister, and they said they never bloat for this long. It was so bad that I kept waking up in the middle of the night in really bad pain. I have tried walking around, going to the bathroom (unsuccessfully), drinking soda to make me burp, etc. Today I am still in pain. It hurts to touch my abdomen, cough, laugh, and even move. I am only okay if I am sitting with my legs stretched out (when they are bent towards me it hurts). My mom, who was a nurse for 30 years, wants me to call the doctor first thing in the morning as she thinks I might have an infection from the procedure.
Does anyone have any experience with this? I am going to call the doctor in the morning, but I am really afraid that they will say it is just usual cramping, which I don't think it is. I have also had bv diagnosed a few months ago. I was put on 3 different antibiotics for it. After taking the first two, I still had the infection and they didn't test after the 3rd antibiotic (they said if I didn't have any symptoms then it is probably gone, even though I told them I didn't have any symptoms in the first place but the infection was found during a routine pap!) Arg, they better not turn me away tomorrow morning without at least taking a swab for infection!!!
