All i used for first 4months or so. Yes it helped, was good as a 'starter' exercise. Taking it slowly & building up.
As for a calorie burner not that great. I barely touch it now. I use crosstrainer, much better burner.
I've got one, although we are trying to move house so its not usable right now.
From where I've used it before its been brilliant - quite versatile in that you can watch TV or read a book whilst on it which helped me as I find boredom is the hardest part of exercising!
