Hey Everyone,

I've been diagnosed with PCO, not PCOS...they aren't the same.
And my doctor said to me that it's nothing to worry about, that it shouldn't prevent me from conceiving. We're doing IUI and through Cycle Monitoring I know that I ovulate. But really....has it impeded anyone from conceiving??

Thanks!

I googled it so I could answer better but what I saw was a lot of confusing info.

https://www.obgynspb.com/pco/ says that PCO is PCOS.

https://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=8925 says that PCO means Polycystic Ovarian Disease and that woman diagnosed with PCO do not ovulate and will have trouble conceiving.

I found one definition from the BabyCenter website that said PCO is PCOS without the acne, hair growth, weight gain, and difficulties conceiving, basically that woman with PCO have cysts and no other symptoms and conceive easily.

It's confusing! What did your Dr. say was different? Maybe it's newly recognized as a different diagnosis and just hasn't really hit the net yet?

I do have PCOS, but only one symptom, being overweight, and because I lose weight easily my Dr. said she didn't think my weight was PCOS related. I've never had regular cycles though, even when I was at a healthy weight.

Sorry I'm not much help :(

That's lots of help, thank you!
Well my doctor just said that I have a mild case of PCO but we can call it a non-issue.
I ovulate just fine & my hormone levels are fine. I just was wondering if maybe it can still be an issue, even if I ovulate just fine...

What are you doing to treat your PCOS or are you taking meds to induce Ovulation?
