Hi just wondering if anyone is having ivf at londons women clinic darlington?
I have my first appointment in February, wanting to egg share.

Hi Clare,
me and my wife have had several treatments at LWC in darlington, including egg sharing. Unfortunately after IVF and IUI treatment we still werent able to fall pregnant and have now resorted to the old fashioned turkey baster technique.
the doctors and nurses at the clinic are so lovely, its very personal and private, and you will eventually get to know the nurses very well. they put you at ease almost immediately.
i think with any sort of treatment at a clinic there is bound to be stress and for us we live a good hours drive from the clinic so found the travel time ontop of the emotional turmoil of IVF treatment a bit too much for us and after 2 years decided to have a break from the clinic. we are now trying to see if the more relaxed at home Artificial Insemination will work for us. Fingers crossed.
as far as the clinic goes we have only nice words about the people and the place.
good luck to you, i hope this can help you some.

hi, thank you for replying to me.. do you mind me asking why you needed ivf, iui? and why the turkey baster home artificial insemination? my husband had a vasectomy reverssal in june 2011 after 14 years. it was a success at first, test in august showed 50million but a test in november declined rapidly to 15 million. we had another test just 2 weeks ago and there was no sperm present at all which means that scarring has most definetly occurred... surgeon suggests a vr re-do which is very expensive. someone suggested to me lwc darlington cos they offer reduced ivf, icsi if you donate half your eggs which i would love to do. to enable someone to have children is a wonderful gift in my eyes.

just a thought have you and your wife tried pre seed and soft cups??
im sorry you have been unsuccessful in your journey,

Hi Claire, we are a lesbian couple thats why we have been trying this way.
i am a proud egg sharer also. being a lesbian i understand the struggle of getting pregnant with one of the vital ingredients missings :-) we need sperm and lucky enough a kind man has donated but when a woman needs an egg its a less common thing to find. i thought why the hell not. if someone wants a child as much as i do and theyre facing the same struggle as me then i would love to help them out. you should be proud of yourself if you are considering this.
warning though IVrf is not for the lighthearted. as cliche as it may sound for us it was an emotional rollercoaster. your body will go through so many changes you wont even recognise yourself at times. the 8injections the weekly clinic appoitments for scans, the fertility tests and blood tests. the egg retrieval for me was the worst part but as you know its all worth it in the end. unfortunately we ran outta money so had to stop, however even before we ran out we decided to try a cycle of IUI to see if it would be less stress and pset on me and my body. to see if by just timing my cycle then inseminating that maybe i would respond better. unfortunately this still didnt work. the Drs will explain to yo the success rates etc and explain to you the best route for you to go down. now we are currently at the stage just waiting to take our pregnancy test last week. we have been inseminating at home iwth a known donor and found this so much more relaxed and enjoyable. insetead of having a Dr make me pregnant my wife was able to do the honours :-)

we wish you all the luck in the world. hope everythin goes well. i also have 2 friends who are also lesbians and have been treated at LWC in Darlo and they both managed to get pregnant 1st time with IVF and both have beautiful daughters. seeing them succeed has given us a positive attitude towards everything. it can get you down in the dumps, it can put a strain on your rewlationship and your bank account but it can also be the most amazing time in your life. and for you to be able to tell your baby how much struggle you went through to bring him / her into the world. they will know they are the most wanted / loved baby ever.
the people at the clinic are lovely am sure you will be well taken care of.

GOOD LUCK!!

Hi Clare, me and my partner had our first apointment at Darlo in 13/2 received phone call yesterday to say bloods back ok and next appointment is book for end of march for counselling!, I am also egg sharing like your self and think it is the most wonderful gift I could ever give to some one. By the sounds of things we are roughly around the same stages will be nice to speak to someone who is going through the same thing, I found Dr Ashour very helpfull and lovely as well as the rest of the staff there, hope to hear from you soon and all the very best for your next appointment. Tiger fan :hugs: xxxx

Hi I'm just starting IVF/ICSI with the LWC Darlington. I'm on Microgynon until April 6th then I start my injections with egg collection in April. No idea what to expect but the medication arrived this morning so it's in my fridge now! I'd love to hear from anyone else going through IVF/ICSI at the moment

Hi

First, thanks to forgive my bad english : I'm french.
we went with my friend in july 2010 to the london women's clinic for egg share. They were very kind and professional with many questions, pictures, etc... They asked also health analyses.
Then they asked us to pay 795£ to be registered on the waiting list. We did it. No news until february 2011, when i sent them a mail to know what was going on ? Then they proposed four donnors : different skin color or older than 33 years old, or ten cm less than my tall...and then no news...
Finally we decided to go in spain in spring 2011, in eugin clinic.
We had a donor egg 18 years old. I'm pregnant since septembre 2011... And no news from Londons Women's clinic until i get in touch with them again in march 2012 !
And it was not possible to have any refund from London Women's clinic...Of course.
Don't lose your time and your money...like me !
