Hi Ladies

Been on google , and came across a few sites where ladies have used Lush Sex Bombs (the things you put in the bath!) to bring on labour?
Has anyone heard of this ? Or knows whether its worked for anyone?

Im 39 weeks now and I am getting so fed up waiting for this baby. I have no signs, no twinges, no nothing :nope:.
Im really afraid of giving birth and really really dreading it , I would like to get it over with sooner rather than later :(.

Never heard of this?!
I bought one before I was pregnant as me&OH used to have loads of baths together but we used various others and never got round to this one...so it's just sitting in my room and now I'm really tempted to use it!!
Only problem is its our anniversary tomorrow and OHs birthday the following day, I daren't try it just yet!:haha:

The lady in lush advised me to avoid sex bomb (I'm second trimester) as it has Jasmine in it which can apparently induce labour. I didn't risk it, but I would imagine you'd have to use a lot of Jasmine products to really have any impact. Hope that helps!
Xx

I've heard this and it's because there's clary sage in it, which pregnant women are advised to avoid unless they're full term. It probably won't do much but I have a stash of them for if/when the time comes that I'll try anything :haha: I'd say give it a go. Worst case scenario you get a nice relaxing bath if nothing else!

It contains Clary Sage Oil - in fact, it's the first ingredient on the list when you look at it.

It doesn't induce labour - according to my midwife at the antenatal class. It moves it along somewhat, think it makes the contractions more regular.

(Although, perhaps she was trying to steer us away from using it!!)

If you have an aromatherapy massage during labour this is what they use to help you along.

I love the Lush Sex Bomb... haven't given it a go yet though. Might wait a couple of weeks.

xxx

I think something like that would probably only help labor if your body is ready for labor to begin with. Worth a try tho! :)

:haha:Am tempted but the thought of having clean the rose petals out of the bath after is putting me off

I used one, did nothing! I actually bathed with clary sage oil drops in the bath nightly for a while, I was 11 days overdue in the end lol! Not a single old wives tale worked for me, but my midwife did say sex was the best of them all..

You could wrap it in some cheesecloth or other thin fabric. It will still let the dissolving bits out but the bits will stay in the cloth... maybe not as romantic but there's nothing romantic to me about cleaning bits of soggy vegetable matter out of a bath LOL.
