Hiya Ladies,

Split from ex at the end of Jan, had to leave the home i rented with ex as it was owned by his dad and 100 miles away from all my friends and family. Moved back home last week (staying with parents).

Thing is i am sharing a room with my 10year old(sharing a bed) and my 8month old, have applied to all the councils/housing associations to be rehoused. I know that there others worse off then me but any idea how long i may wait to be rehoused?

Or is it a case of how long is a peice of string?

Thanks x

hi hun, you wil be classed as band c, so it shouldnt take long at all.. maybe a few months x

You should be pretty much top of the list. Took me a couple months because I was classed as overcrowded at home, the dining room was my 'bedroom' lol x

I'm sleeping on my parents living room floor and James is in a travel cot in the room. My dad has medical problems and I was told I would be in Band A....no such luck...I'm in Band B...have been on the list just over 2 months and am still number 30 odd minimum when bidding. And these are in the more unpopular areas. I am looking at probably another 6-12 months!

Little Kitten makes me realise how lucky i am.............big hugs to you xx

Big hugs to everyone........xxx

I dunno if it depends on your borough, but i had to wait 3 weeks to be given my flat xxx

Think it really does depend on your area. Im living at home atm with overcrowding etc and am waiting on a letter update saying how many points I have etc but am planning on ringing them this afternoon if I dont have it in the post lol

I could get lucky and be out in a couple of months or I could be here til next year! Just dont know!

I just got my letter and ive been put in band B, but a friend was also in this catagory and it took her nearly two years i think to get a place  Think it really does depend on where you live...

I feel so guilty at times living at home, my mum doesnt even let me do my own washing, she insists she does it... Then again that could have something to do with the fact that she hates anyone but her touching her 'precious' washing machine lol

xx

Haha this made me laugh, when i moved into my place i took my mums washing machine and i've been doing my own washing since i was about 13 cos i cant stand her doing mine!!! Even now when she does LO's clothes if she's had her overnight, i come home and rewash them lol xxx

Haha! My mum cant stand it if i use hers, if i do need to use it i have to call her up at work and ask her permission lol If i dont she will get all moody, and no matter how i do the washing it is never right, so i just let her get on with it :D

Haha you should just tell your mum not to bother, saves effort that way lol, i couldnt imagine not liking my mums washing, she has this way of making it go all fluffy and smells soooo pretty! I especially love it if she does my bed sheets! haha

xx

LOL What is it with mums and washing my mum keeps trying to do mine, its driving me crazy, mum even asked if i wanted her to come to the doctor with me.............LOL I am 34years old course i dont need my mum to come down the docs with me.......Her hearts in the right place.

Guess it depends on where you live all the councils/housing associations here have an 8week backlog on looking at the applications.

Yeh it definately makes a difference where your living. If its causing you stress though tell your doctor and you could get a form signed and possibly get more points x

I was classed as band B!! and I was offered a flat after 10 weeks of bidding. It took a while and I had previously seen two others which werent suitable but i am just waiting for the work to be completed and then I can move in.. been 3 weeks now. x

Congrats on the flat xx bet you cant wait x

i was homeless and staying around friens when i was pregnant and they still havent housed me- that was a year ago. luckily i managed to get somethin sorted myself
my councils system was awful.
i hope u have better luck than me

to be honest i would. u can get help with housing and things and my mum was a guarantor for me so i could get somewhere threw a letting agency.
i have a gorgeous flat with a balcony and everything.
its great and i dont have to worry bout the area or anything.
but it is gonna be hard when my mat pay finishes but then the housing will go back up so i'll still manage.
the council tried to put me in a flat in the middle of a horrendous area for £650 a month!!! i was gobsmacked!! there was no way i could have paid that.
i was a student at the time too and they said i HAD to accept it and sign the papers before i saw it and then apply for benefit. turns out they were talking crap and i actually couldnt have applied for housing benefit while i was studying. honestly if i had gone with that flat i would be in deep deep trouble with lots of debt by now!
its just ridiculous to be honest. :nope:
