I have a baby that just turned 1 a few weeks ago. I am still nursing him to sleep and at lease 2x a night and a couple times a day. He does eat everything we eat but I am so anxious about being pregnant and nursing. What are your opinions? Thanks.

I am pregnant and nursing my 14 month old right now. It is suppose to be fine, the only thing that royally sucks for me is my nips are sooo sensitive that when she latches I am dying in pain. I am trying to slowly wean her, but I don't want to traumatize her by taking it away all at once.
Just go with what feel comfortable. If your feeling good about it, you can go all the way through and tandem nurse if you want, or just start weaning when you feel it is appropriate! Good luck sweetie!

I was still nursing when I got pregnant but my doctor advised me to slowly stop. Not sure why...I've always heard its fine as long as you are getting adequate nutrition. I should have asked why, but I was starting to wean anyways.

I am pregnant (13 weeks) and BF, it's really not a problem, my milk is seeming to be drying up quite suddenly so I am introducing cows milk in a cup 1-2x a day, my son is coming up to 23 months now so I don't mind stopping. There is no need to stop though unless you want to xx

When I got pg with DS2 I was still nursing DS1 (who was 16 months at the time). I was in the phase of gradually weaning him off me anyway. Bu about 19 months he had stopped anyway.
There's no real problem with nursing whilst being pregnant, though I believe the taste of the milk changes somewhat due to your hormones, so your LO might self-wean anyway.

It amazes me that some docs still tell people to stop breastfeeding when pregnant. I'm pregnant now with a 13 month old still breastfeeding, and my doc is absolutely fine with it. I was breastfeedingy first son while I was pregnant with my second, although he was older and self weaned halfway through the pregnancy.
