Anyone know anything about day 21 tests and progesterone?

Hi! I had my day 21 bloods done on a Friday, they showed I did ovulate, but I just wondered, does anyone know how long after ov you would get a positive result on day 21? Ie, could I have ovulated on the Thursday and then my blood test confirm ovulation the following day, or is that too soon?

I think that's too soon. I think it slowly rises and day21 is the peak, if you have a typical 28 day cycle with Ov on day 14.

So do u think it's more likely I ovulated before the Thursday? Just trying to work out if af is late you see! Although I've just got a v feint bfp so it might not matter!

Think it would be before the Thursday but I'm not an expert! They only need to be over a certain level to be classed as Ovulating anyway.

working on a 28 day cycle...

day 1 if the first day of AF
day 14 is usually ovulation
bloods to check for ovulation are taken at day 21

if you ovulate, the egg is released from the follicle on day 14 and the corpus leutum ( the empty follicle ) releases progesterone and this is at it's max on day 21, hence why the test is on day 21.

so you would have ovulated the previous friday or there abouts, very unlikely to have been the day before the test
