I have RH - blood and my mother has + I talked to her last night about how weird my AF has been (started spotting on CD 1 and its come and gone and not gone completely red) and she said she spotted the first two weeks when she was pregnant with me - but I've tested almost every day and I've gotten BFNs. I'm possibly anywhere from 14-16 DPO today. Anyone know anything about RH - blood type and whether it might have an effect on hpts?

Hi hon, as far as I know, Rh type shouldn't make any difference on HPTs. Rh is a protein on your red blood cells (in your case, since you are Rh negative, you don't have that protein).
hCG is a hormone and HPTs are highly specific for hCG. So I don't see why the two should be related.
A lot of people get late BFPs, so maybe wait a few more days before testing again?

Thanks, I was pretty sure it wouldn't affect anything but I thought I'd ask. I didn't even think about it until my mother told me she spotted with me. I made an appointment to talk to my doctor this afternoon.

HPTs use urine. Blood type has nothing to do with it.

Why are you going to the doctor today? If you don't know for sure when you O'd, and think you are 14-16 DPO and spotting, you are probably going to get AF soon. How long has it been since your last AF? If it's <60 days and you are still getting negative HPTs, save yourself and your doctor some time and wait awhile longer.

Umm...well...because I've been off BC for 3 months and TTC for 3 months and my cycles are screwed up and the spotting I'm having right now isn't normal for me, last month I had a 42 day cycle, this month it seems like its getting back on track but still a litle weird...and I'd just like to talk to the doctor...I didn't talk to them before stopping BC and starting TTC and it would make me feel better?

If you've got some questions for the doc, then I'd go and ask them :) It may well be AF on her way, but if you've got other questions anyway then it's worth asking them.

The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask :)

I agree with Glowingjo! I'm glad you went and got your levels checked I can't wait til your results are in!!!
