Anyone know whether dry patches on skin is normal in pregnancy?

Hi everyone

I have just joined 2nd Tri for the 2nd time, and have just started noticing weird dry patches on my arms and forehead (near my hair line). It feels like really yukky scales. I don't remember experiencing this in my first pregnancy.

Does anyone know what it could be, and whether I should be worried?? I'd be grateful for any advice!

It could be psoriasis perhaps. My skin has been very dry itchy and sensitive but if I slather moisturizer I am a bit better. If it is new symptom though you might want to have someone look at it. Just in case it is infection or fungal (since immune system is down during preg)

It could be eczema or psoriasis. It's very common during pregnancy. I also have tinea versicolor/sun spots which are similar that I've had since before becoming pregnant and I have to use a body wash for that.

Thank you! I will ask my gynae at my 16 week check up for something to use to clear it up

OMG yes ! My DH has this wierd dry patchy skin discoloration thing on his chest and in my pregnancy I got this same exact thing that he has. Talk about odd..... lol
