Instead of buying one? I really like the idea of making one myself, so i can add that personal touch and make it more special etc, plus it will give me something to do during mat leave.
What materials did you use? I had a look round Hobbycraft the other day but didn't buy anything, obviously i'd need card, i'd want it to be fairly thick (but not cardboard box thick iykwim) so it's not to flimsy. I'm also thinking of getting an ink pad and some stamps to decorate the pages as I think that would look better than using stickers, something to fasten the pages together, maybe some glue and coloured paper? What did you use to make yours?
Also how many pages would I need? And what would I include? I have a few ideas so far as to what to put in it:
- Scan pictures
- Picture of me and oh
- Bump progression pictures
- Family tree
- Birth story
- Measurements and features i.e weight, length, eye colour, facial features etc.
- Date and time of birth
- Pictures taken after she's born
What size is your baby book, i was thinking maybe A5 sized, i think A4 would be a bit big and difficult to store and keep in good condition
Do you think it's a good idea or not? Sorry about all the questions. Feel free to post pictures of your homemade baby books, I could do with some inspiration
