Anyone not been to the docs yet?

I'm about 5 weeks 1 day and i haven't phoned the docs yet, think i'm gonna wait until next week when i'm 6 weeks coz i guess they'll count me as being 7 weeks as they go by the lmp? also do you think they might give me an early scan? i'd feel really cheeky asking incase they say no

Hi Hun congrats on your bfp, I'm 5 wk and 1 day and have my gp appt on tuesday. Am definitely asking for early scan, been having af cramps since thursday xx

Congratulations!! Unfortunately it's so hard to get in for an early appointment even with history of problems I will be 5 weeks in a few days and even after a m/c and and ectopic I have to wait for my first u/s till I will be 6w3d or so. My ob feels positive about this pregnancy since my hcg levels are rising well (I didn't get to see him, he put in the tests after calling his office)- but it's very hard to wait that long, even though I know there's not a lot to see and check this early in the game. I saw my GP at 4+1. She gave me a referral to an obstetrician (didn't do any bloods only a HPT) but he wont see me until 7 weeks. I am going to humbug him for an early scan as I am terrified of going through another mmc.

Thanks, i've got an appointment tomorrow., gonna ask for some blood tests to check my hcg levels and then see what happens.

i went to the docs early for them to confirm my BFP as i got 6 faint positives. As regards to early scan i would ask for one, you are not being cheeky, if the doc knows that you are worried they might see what they can do. They dont always do them as standard. I know if i had not had any problems during this pregnancy the i would have only had the 12 week and 20 week scan. But due to bleeding i got a scan @ 6 weeks and then more bleeding i had another scan at 13 weeks. Scans all depend on your NHS and previous losses.
