anyone not stocking up the freezer?

nope we aren't either!
We've stocked up in the freezer in that we'#ve bought plenty of food, and will keep it that way just so we don't have to dash out to the shops, but dh cooks every night and I'm sure will be more than happy to continue to do so. It doesn't take long to prepare a meal and cook it.

My freezer is one of those tiny, two shelves above the fridge compartment jobs, so not much room to freeze full on meals. OH is very handy in the kitchen so I reckon we will be ok.

Me. I was going to but dh told me not to bother as he is off work for 4 weeks after the birth and perfectly capable of sorting the dinners out. I will just have to tell him exactly what to make

hey, i was surprised to see this post because i didn't think anyone stocked up on home cooked meals!!! i thought i was the only one and now it seems true. lol! my friend said she was doing it right before she had her baby and I thought "wow, that's a great idea" so i went for it too but yea generally it's something I hadn't even heard of before that. It's hard work stocking the freezer, don't feel bad for not getting to it. You will definitely not starve :) as between friends, family and pre-made foods you'll be fine.

just got my tesco delivery, and the freezer is now nice and full of stuff someone else made, so couldn't put homemade stuff in there if i tried!!!!! also got plenty of tins of soup, beans etc. even hubby wouldn't starve

we wont be stocking up as we live with MIL and FIL, so if im not up to cooking and OH isnt either one of them will cook so we'll be ok

Im not either, but im lucky i have a MIL that will cook me food like u never believe. Plus mum will be with me for 3 weeks when baby is born :)

im not preparing food before baby comes ill just do a shop at iceland in the next few weeks haha we wont starve newborns sleep sooo much im sure if i really fancied cooking a "proper" meal id have time!!

I never did, I don't cook that's my OH's job and then the baby came early, so nothing was ready. Didn't even have any place for him to sleep for the first few nights.

im not stocking up either. i couldn't think of doing anything worse right now than standing in the kitchen for hours on end cooking lasagne's and hot pots!! it really isn't as necessary as people think

babies sleep 2-3 hour naps during the day at a given time and anybody who takes more than 3 hours to make a meal really shouldnt be cooking lol x

Ive bought some bits today so I can start stocking up.Tomorrows plan will be 2 lasagnes and a apple cake. Its easy enough to do a couple of things a week so I dont need to do a massive cooking session.

We dont have great ready meals over here, plus they are overpriced, small and bland :haha:

My mum will be over when baby is born and she will take care of most of the kitchen stuff for us but I want some bits in for when she has gone. I will also have a 3 year old to entertain and would prefer to spend free time with him.

I'm not stocking up either. OH is a great cook so between us we'll be able to sort ourselves out each day with fresh dinners. If we're too knackered we can just do easy stuff like pasta or grilled steak/chicken/lamb with veg or salad.

Tonight he's doing soupy noodles with grilled chicken, wontons, pak choi and rice noodles. Simple, tasty and healthy so another dish which will be great and quick when baby is born. He's been doing pretty much all the cooking for the last 3 or 4 weeks even though he's working and I'm not because I've just been too tired.

I haven't, I have a perfectly able hubbie who can cook so I'm not going to bother :)

Ha ha, I am not cooking and freezing anything!! It will be pizza, salad and pasta and all things convenient for us! x Someone I know who is preggers is buying extra tins every week to put away - I mean when you have a baby, the shops are still open, there isn't a war on!

I won't be doing this either. I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago and can only stand for a few minutes at a time, so I don't think I could handle it...plus, my husband will be home for the first week, I'm sure he can handle cooking us dinner!

Jess arrived 4 weeks early unexpectedly and I didn't get to do this- actually I don't think you need to in my opinion - I know everyone is different so it may be a good idea for some but we have cooked normally and still have time for everything else x

I will be booking my usual online shopping from Sainsburys with some additional ready meals, to keep us going ;) ... I have also ordered some Slimfast shakes as a back up if I am too tired to cook during the day (and may help lose a few of those pregnanacy lbs lol;) )
