I have got to pick my prescription up tomorrow ready to use them, anyone else on these?

I had to take heparin blood thinning injections every day for 6 weeks after the birth of my daughter. I have a condition called factor 5 Leiden that can increase the chance of a clot. I never had to take any injections during my pregnancy but I know there are quite a lot of women who do. You get used to doing the shot everyday and it never had any side effects. Hope you're ok x

Did you have a VB or CS? I'm on Lovenox now for FVL (as I've had a stillborn and 2 MC). The doctor really hasn't said when I will stop.

I had very straight forward VB. I think they would rather you have VB if possible as there are more risks for us with the surgery of a CS.
Have they told you the reason for your still birth & mc is due to FVL?
I have never had any clots at all in my life so this was probably why I was never given blood thinners during my pregnancy, it did concern me at the time though but I knew my mum has always had FVL (and a another rare thrombophilia) but my mum never knew any of this until well after she had had her children and she had normal problem free pregnancies.
I take it you are in contact with a haematologist at your hospital. They are generally very good. I was able to email mine with concerns & questions and he was always very reassuring and helpful. So sorry to hear of your previous losses, I'll keep everything crossed for you that you have a healthy pregnancy this time x

I don't think they'll ever really determine the cause. The placenta pathology showed clots on the maternal side, but we don't know if they were from before or after she died. I went to a new OB today and she was surprised I had a problem being only FVL hetero, but was okay with me continuing the Lovenox. She is going to have the MFM and the hematologist take care of dosing. She did say she didn't think my dose was high enough.

Hey Hun I'm in the same boat as you, I have factor v too. I started dalteparin two weeks ago, I'm covered in bruising from them, they are just the same as heparin. I too have had a clot 5 years ago. Its a bit of a pain having to take them every day then get ur bloods checked every week but its worth it in the long run. Feel free to message me to let me know how u r getting on with them xx
