anyone on Metformin? please?

I've been on 1000mg a day for maybe 6 months, and my Dr upped my doseage up to 2000 mg per day. Aside from the stomach side effects, I've had nonstop nausea. Did anyone have this happen and if so, how long does it last? Also does it restart my cycle so to speak? I use an app to chart periods and such and it estimated that I would ovulate today... and I didn't. So I'm wondering if it restarted my cycle. Since I was nauseous a little before the dose increase, SO is hoping I'm pregnant. Since I had a period (2actually) last month AND didn't ovulate in July. I'm certain this is sadly not the case. Help please??
