I've posted this in all 3 tris as desperate to hear from someone else that has scoliosis and find out if you are having a cesarean or natural birth?

With my DD my husband wanted me to have a cesarean as we weren't sure how tilted / twisted my pelvis is (I have a 35 degree curve at bottom of my spine and a 15 degree one at top so spine is S shaped)
I wasn't overly keen on the idea but ended up hospitalised with severe pre eclampsia at 37 weeks and decision was taken out of my hands when they decided baby had to come out at 38 weeks and she wasn't head down.

They hadn't realised how bad my curves were and it resulted in them not being able to physically administer a spinal as they just couldn't get it in correctly so I ended up having to be put to sleep :(

I really don't want this to happen again and hated the cesarean recovery time but OH is still terrified of baby getting stuck so was just wondering if anyone else can please share their experiences with me as my MW and docs aren't overly familiar with the condition. Thanks :)

I have curves in both the top and bottom of my spine and had an emergency cesarean because LO was a missed footling breach. I had the same problem as u, they spent an hour trying to find my spine but couldnt so I had to be put to sleep. IF we decide to have another child, and it is a massive if, then I will be asking to have a c section while asleep so that I dont have to go through all of that again. I dont no about u but ive found the whole thing really traumatic and would rather know whats going to happen than have to go through that again. I went into labour naturally at 37+4 so I experienced labour which im glad about but the rest of it was my version of hell. Ive been told by a midwife that ill have to have a cesarean next time and I was told by a health visitor that I could try naturally so I really think ull need to talk to the drs/midwives that will be caring for u to help them understand more about the condition and make the decision from there. Its all about what u are going to feel comfortable with. Just be prepared for things to be taken out of ur hands again.
