at a young age. I no the safe sleep guidelines say not to. She currently has colic.reflex or something like that. We use infacol, She is breastfed. Swaddeling dont work.she is so uncomfortable on her back. Wakes she self up, goes all stiff and tense. Yet during the day i put her on her side. Im watching her constently and she is so comfortable. She is only 3 weeks old. Obviously im scared.

Yeah I used to when Thomas was younger. Not all the time, just if his wind was particularly bad or he was particularly unsettled. He doesn't mind sleeping on his back now that he's older.

B used to sleep on her side when she was very little, she was much happier. I BFed and she'd drop off on her side after a feed and I'd pop her into her basket, she usually rolled onto her back herself after a while. :)

Kai rolled onto side from about a week old and so I always put him on side and he sleeps better that way. Hv didnt have any issues with it either.

Myles slept on his side since birth he now rolls onto his back and back again. He was so much happier on his side. He is 5 weeks on Friday. MW and HV fine with it.

Ronan almost always sleeps on his side and is much more comfortable like that. He's been rolling from his back onto his side since his first week on his own and will roll back again if he wants to.

i love you ladies. feel a bit better about trying it now. seeing health visitor today so gonna ask her

I used to place amelie on her side too when she was swaddled. Actually when in hosp, the mw swaddled her and placed her on her side too  I think its only an issue when they lie on their tummys as they can move their head and be face down and suffocate :(

Bryson slept on his side pretty much from day one. I bought a sleep positioner and placed Bryson in it and he would sleep like that. He was very comfortable. He now sleeps on his tummy, he hates sleeping on his back.

Hi :hi:
I put Ellie on her side from time to time also she seems to settle better although I would never leave her alone when on her side. xx

Well, Luke much preferred to sleep on his side from about 3-5 weeks, he seemed to get bored of it, and changed to back sleeping, but I used to let him, as long as you have a breathable mattress you should be fine! :)

Mika only sleeps on his side. He started rolling from back to side at about three days old so there really is very little I can do to stop him from side sleeping. The nurses told us that side sleeping was just fine.

Oliver is sleeping on his side or he just love to sleep on his tummy/knees. And he is just 17 days old! On the beginning i was a bit scared so i was looking at him every minute, but it was a only way to get him comfortable (he is a colicy baby :/) My MIL during the first days tried to put him on his tummy and it worked, he was sleeping hours, get calmer so now i usually put him on his side or on his tummy, knowing that most of the midwifes said not to do it... finally my health visitor ensure me that is fine.

These are a godsend , I put one on Aoibheann so I know she is ok , if it went of I know how to resuscitate a baby so I would have a chance . but also the vibrate function gives her an opportunity to catch her breath . She wears it all the time on her nappy it doest bother her , you cant see it and it mean i don't go loopy , I know a hundred euro is a lot but its amazing .

My son is the same way. He will NOT sleep on his back or his side... he has been sleeping on his tummy since he was 2 weeks old. If he didn't sleep on his tummy I would have to hold him to get him to sleep. I feel like such a bad mom for this but he has awesome head control. I get up every 20 minutes in the night and check on him. I am soooo sleep deprived!

I put Bella down on her side, she sleeps much better that way. If i put her on her back, she wakes up & thrashes around. I prop her up with a blanket so she can't roll over on to her front. She's slept this way from about 1 week old.

When Sofia was in hospital the nurses would often put her on her side.

Yup. Emma would roll onto her side some how so we just made pads to stop her going on her tummy.
