I had a lot of problems feeding my son due to undiagnosed tongue and lip ties. I had to combi feed from 8 weeks due to poor milk transfer and low weight gain. My supply was badly affected despite regular pumping between feeds and taking domperidone and fenugreek.
I kept some breastfeeding up until 8 months but it was hard work.
I want to breastfeed this time again and I'm actually very open to combi feeding at some point as it worked well for us but I would really like to be able to establish my supply early on and be confident in my ability to feed my child, something I never felt with my son until he started formula.
Is it possible to see someone before my daughter is born for some advice? And can I insist that she is checked for ties before we leave the hospital? Is there any provision for providing support for free?
Thank you
