Anyone taken Sociology before?

I'm just wrapping up my Sociology class, and I have one final assignment.
"Select a "hot topic" social issue currently being talked about in the media, in which you believe could help build a coalition across gender identity, class, race/ethnicity, religion, age. Please make an argument for why you chose that issue."

Anyone have any ideas on a current issue I could use? I am stumped. I have been on news sites for at least an hour. It's the end of the class and I have done school work non stop today, I think that's why I can't focus anymore and why I can't figure something out.
